AceFuzzLord, to chat in how's your week going, Beehaw

Well, 2 weeks into having a laptop running linux, I accidentally deleted the etc file and can’t get back the few files on it that I created. Luckily, none of it is really all that important and the rest was already backed up onto a thumb drive.

Now I have the task of reinstalling and setting things back up and getting a quick assignment done for one of my classes. Thankfully I’ve got plenty of time to do both.

AceFuzzLord, to lemmyshitpost in Cant play monster hunter

The big problem I have with joycons is my big, meaty hands. Makes it slightly harder for me to comfortably hold those small controllers when they’re not connected to the switch itself. I’ve totally been thinking of just going down to the nearby game shop one day and getting a controller, if I ever get more switch games to make the investment worthwhile.

AceFuzzLord, to linux in Bluetooth Help (MX Linux Plasma, kernel 6.1.0-13)

No because I didn’t know it existed until right now, reading your comment. I’ll be sure to check it out.

I’m only using PulseAudio because that was what came with the base installation. I’ll definitely check out PipeWire+WirePlumber to see if that works.

AceFuzzLord, (edited ) to asklemmy in What really popular movie or TV show have you never seen?

Name a popular live action show from the past maybe close to a decade or sooner that aired in America and I probably have not seen it. Or if I have, it’s because my parents watch it and I happen to be in the area for a little bit.

AceFuzzLord, to asklemmy in What's some amazing technology they have in Japan that's very normal to them but would blow our minds here in the US and western world?

As someone from the west coast of The States, I can’t say I’ve ever seen a hot drink vending machine in real life. At least not here where I live.

AceFuzzLord, to memes in Icon design

The new logo looks sleek and nice, but I personally just really like more complex logos.

AceFuzzLord, to asklemmy in Anime fans, what are your favorite anime openings of all time?

Definitely a tie with a few:

• Mushishi (The Sore Feet song and not Shiver, which is also great)

• Logos Naki World (Hellsing)

• Kibou no Kakera by Nana Kitade (Demsahita Powerpuff Girls Z op 1)

• Rewrite by Asian Kung-fu Generation (FMA '03 op 4)

• Detective Conan op 1 (the one from the Funimation English dub)

AceFuzzLord, to linux in What's your current favorite distro that isn't Arch, Debian or Fedora?

Considering pretty much all of the best distros are based on those three, probably the best you’ll get is trying BSD. I can’t think of a single distro not based on one.of the three that is still maintained.

AceFuzzLord, to linux in What's your current favorite distro that isn't Arch, Debian or Fedora?

On the laptop I got less than a week ago for college, I’ve been having fun using Mx with KDE. It’s been pretty good so far on my galaxy book.

AceFuzzLord, to linux in Linux in the corporate space

If you are talking about the computers themselves having Linux on them by default or dual bootable, then I’m kinda jealous. At the community college I attend, the computer lab for CS and IT related classes has only windowss 10.

AceFuzzLord, (edited ) to historyporn in Confederate submarine discovered by the US government in 1878.

It never ceases to amaze me just how old the first submarines ever made are/were. They feel like something that shouldn’t even be possible to have been made before the 20th century. Definitely might have to read up on this.

AceFuzzLord, to asklemmy in Your greatest weakness becomes your greatest strength. How is your life different?

Well, now that I don’t absolutely suck at talking to strangers and don’t fumble my words, my life just got a lot easier.

AceFuzzLord, to linux in What's your favorite music player on Linux?

Strawberry is also great if you are on windows as well. I support it in general, whether you use it on Windows or Linux. I’ve been using it whenever I want to listen to my music on my windows machine. Definitely gonna be using it with my next Linux machine (that isn’t my absolute dogshit laptop). Before learning about Strawberry, I was just using Foobar2000 or VLC, which both just don’t feel anywhere near as good to me than Strawberry.

Fair.
