I know around 2021 I had this problem once, when I opened PvZ2 Chinese version. I was able to lookup and find a website that contained fake names, addresses, and IDs. It worked after I tried a few. A couple years later and it didn’t work, so I have no idea what to do.
Also, I don’t know if you need to know it or not, but for those that don’t know, the top input field bar thing is for name and the one below it is for Chinese ID.
Don’t remember exactly what it was, but I think it was Samsung and was one of the ones where you slid it up to access the keypad. I got it around middle school as a hand-me-down from my dad. I thought it was the absolute coolest thing at the time, despite that was around when my parents were upgrading to smart phones. I’ll definitely have to look it up to see what it was.
Edit:
On GSMArena there is 66 pages of different model Samsung phones and plenty that you slid up to access the keypad. Finding the exact model would be like finding a straw of hay in a needle stack, so I’m giving up after 14 pages.
As someone with a lower end spec desktop, I personally think that running emulated games or just normal PC titles at a much lower speed isn’t an issue. Especially since I don’t play FPS games.
I’m one of those people who’d be fine running a game at fluctuating 30FPS just so long as I can play it. It’s how my desktop handled mc before I boycotted it for minetest and how it handles minetest when I’m not on a super flat void world due to mod strain.
Last I checked, in China, you are legally required to put in your name and ID for games like mobile games. If I recall correctly, the law says something about making sure children don’t spend all day gaming. And just inputting a fake Chinese name and Chinese ID isn’t inherently bad. The bigger problem would be what the app does behind the scenes. That’s what I’d be more concerned about.
I’ve had to do this with PvZ2 Chinese edition back in 2021, which was originally started by PopCap Shanghai, so it wasn’t just some random small company making some relatively obscure game. I personally think it’s a dumb law, but there’s nothing a foreigner like myself can do to really change it.
My family thinks I’m insane because I almost exclusively get bathroom sink water where I live when I get water. It’s so much better than the kitchen taps.
Only problem with water is that I need to get better about actually remembering to drink enough.
Okay, what happens if your repo doesn’t have a specific software you are looking for? A trusted repo is good, but it won’t have everything you might want. This is especially true for new software or less popular software.
As great as Linux can be, using windows without the bloat or spyware is fine by me. Hell, using it with all that is fine just so long as the end user is happy.
Totally depends on the instance. There are definitely furry communities here in Lemmy and they definitely feel lonely. But I have heard of some furry mastodon instances that actually are lively and active. No idea if they actually are since I don’t have a clue why I can’t access my mastodon account, let alone what instance I signed up on.
But active non-Linux, non-Star Trek meme groups definitely are a thing, despite how small they are.
