I considered looking at R once. As a data scientist and an experienced Python user, maybe I’ll see something useful. Then I learned that R uses <- for variable assignment and = for equality evaluation, and I stopped learning because I would make that mistake if I learned to switch back and forth for the rest of my life.

They are 1. Slow on launch and on boot. 2. Very opaque and offer little control. 3. They don’t integrate well. 4. Proprietary. 5. Probably most importantly, Canonical has made 0 progress and demonstrated 0 interest in improving issues 1-4.

On my TCL TV, it’s impossible to disconnect the wifi after you connect it. The button just doesn’t exist. I had to make a new network, connect to that, and shut down the new network.
