BlanK0,

Very interesting, going to check it out 🤙

BlanK0,

I was saying that you do spend less time cause it is already there. Also you can have logs on other init systems, what I said on the post is that if later I wanted logs I could just setup instead of being already there (and the other utilities, not just the logs of course).

BlanK0,

I am not saying this proves single-handedly that systemd has vulnerabilities but it is one of probably many out there. I am not saying enterprise is stupid but I could definitely see some sacrifice being possibly made to spend less time setting up utilities on every systemd machine for enterprise work.

BlanK0,

The oddlama installer looks interesting, I might personally check it out later 👍

In regards to the VM, you can alucate as much ram and cpu power to it to make it performe better if needed (when setting up and you can also adjust it afterwards, at least in virtmanager (KVM) ). And there is an aspect I haven’t really touched but heard that it improved performance which is gpu passthrough.

(I dont really limit processes and stuff, just simple alucation and configuration)

In case you are interested in setting up KVM, I am going to leave a video for you to watch, also I have found the gpu passthrough video if you are interested as well

BlanK0,

I havent gamed on it yet but it is pretty responsive. My specs are nvidia geforce rtx3060 and amd ryzen 7. Also i am using KVM as the hypervisor since it is type 1 which means better performance and safety overall.

BlanK0,

Super agree, paper printers are a scam imo

BlanK0,

That actually would be really cool ngl

In-progress COSMIC apps: terminal, file manager, text editor, and settings (fosstodon.org)

COSMIC is a Wayland desktop environment for Linux that is written in Rust with Smithay and Iced. COSMIC applications are developed with the libcosmic platform toolkit, which is based on iced. They are cross-platform and supported on Windows, Mac, and Redox OS in addition to Linux....

BlanK0,

Pretty cool, looks like a promising DE

BlanK0,

U should try KVM for virtualization, more specifically virtmanager.

BlanK0,

Better flatpak curation poggers 😯😯

There is a package called android-transfer-file or something like that in the void repos but I’m not sure if its also in the mint repos, might be worth checking, its a gui app that makes it very straightforward to transfer files. Or in last resort you can always git clone the project and use ‘make’ to build manually the app

BlanK0,

I have nvidia and its been working for me
