Blue_Morpho,

Low end Intel like Gracemount N200 are lower power and higher performance than Raspberry Pi.

Even an old JasperLake is like 24 watts max to Pi5’s 27 watts.

Yes but nowadays you’d buy a USB version since few phones have headphone jacks. They’re on Amazon.

Here’s an old style headphone jack ir blaster adapter:

No, the last version of my that was vulnerable was 3.5.1 2000 was better than xp for a year after XP came out. You couldn’t even boot XP on a driver bigger than 128GB where 2000 had that bug already patched.

Blue_Morpho,

I watch that channel all the time. It’s always been DS9 and Voyager. Is it just DS9 now 24/7?

Blue_Morpho,

Like I said, he was a misogynistic jerk. But if she was so keen on leaving she wouldn’t have asked for stories to be re-written so she could stay on ds9 while doing Becker.

Blue_Morpho,

I like Wil but his actor skills are gone. His appearance in Picard was cringingly bad. Although I partly blame the director for allowing such a bad performance to go to print.

Blue_Morpho,

That’s only good if you can bring your work to your garage.

Michael Dukakis tanks his presidential campaign, 1988 (lemmy.world)

Michael Dukakis was a Democrat candidate running for President in 1988. He had previously been criticized as being soft on national defense, so in September of that year he orchestrated a photo op in an M1 Abrams tank meant to toughen up his image....

Ross Perot - big ears and too many charts

Ross Perot was never going to win. Especially after dropping out then rejoining. He said dirty tricks party threatened to out his daughter which came off weak instead of just saying “Republicans”

Al Gore - Bragger

It was Al Gore is a bragger for saying he invented the Internet. Which he didn’t say, and Vint Cerf repeatedly defended Al Gore as the only politician who saw the potential of the Internet and worked to make it happen.

Mitt Romney - Binders full of women

Blue_Morpho,

Because I’ve yet to see an argument I’m buying this phone because it has a range finder.

No one looks for a rangefinder because they don’t need to care about the technical details. They only know that one phone takes better photos than another. That it’s because the phone has a laser rangefinder doesn’t matter.

Blue_Morpho,

The reason for all the lens’s on the back is technical. They can’t put a regular camera lens so they use multiple ones each with different focus ranges.

Even using a regular DSLR you need to swap lenses for different situations.

Blue_Morpho,

They can’t be large DSLR style interchangeable lenses because of the form factor. Nor can a single tiny lens even have the range of a compact digital camera because of the form factor. But by adding extra lenses to cover different focus ranges, a smart phone can replace the compact digital camera device. They can’t be as good as a DSLR, but I haven’t needed anything but my phone and DSLR in years where before I bought a new compact digital camera every few years.

Blue_Morpho,

Someone else posted an app that gives the feature back. If you turn off other aid features and just use the app it won’t use more battery than a notification led.

Blue_Morpho,

I don’t get the joke. Is this meta about some deleted posts?

Blue_Morpho,

I know this is a deep cut for a joke:

The title of the painting is: Teal’s dream.

(Hyperdrive)

Blue_Morpho,

It never works when you need it. Like “that file was too big”, that file was on a network share, that file is outside the window of how many old changes are saved. It’s like using an undelete utility. Sometimes you get lucky.

It’s better to save every change as a dated/numbered file or use a real source control system.

Blue_Morpho,

How does heat get from the water radiator to the air?

Radiation.

Atoms don’t physically touch. The electrostatic force that both binds atoms into molecules and keeps molecules separated is mediated by photon exchange.

I just deleted my entire library and redownloaded it.

A lot of my files were shitty 480p versions of movies from the Napster days. Now they’re all 1080p, with a few 720p exceptions (mainly tv series episodes). All in all 500 something files in total. Now just watching uTorrent slowly download them all. Hopefully my VPN keeps the eyes off of me…

Blue_Morpho,

Is this new in the past few months? I was using mulvad with qbitorrent a few months ago and it was uploading.

Blue_Morpho,

That was lucky timing for me! I was updating all my media around June.

Blue_Morpho,

Everything was once “legally fine” until a court ruled otherwise.

Shrinkwrap licenses were once “legally fine”.

Blue_Morpho,

They are selling your data anyway. The $30 covers their costs to market your data to advertisers.

Blue_Morpho,

I didn’t even comment for a long time because of the requirement to use a real email instead of disposable. I didn’t even have a real email on Reddit and I created that account long after it was popular (but before they required real email accounts). Imo Lemmy cracked down on potential fake accounts too soon and it is costing them growth.

Registration, especially requiring legitimate credentials is a huge barrier for many people who would otherwise post.

Blue_Morpho,

He was such a a quitter. One suicide and he gave up. He just needed to jump back and give her a motivational speech when she was a child and presto! Timelord Victorious!

Blue_Morpho,

Enterprise was great after they killed off Trip. TNG holodeck episodes are my favorite.
