Pure speculation on my part, but large corporations like Google always have endless meetings full of people just looking for any kind of shit to justify their jobs. I figured it was inevitable before some goons there put their sites on ad blockers and am surprised it took this long. After all, those of us that use them (including me) are using their resources without giving them any revenue in return. (Well, that’s not entirely true, I was a Premium subscriber until they hiked the price again).

Hell, I have trouble understanding young people right now. I’m not trying to dunk on them, I’m just old.

I’m thinking past could work better, as you could pretend to be mute or have a very limited vocabulary. Future could be anything and will probably have an uninhabitable atmosphere.

I had abdominal surgery several years ago and the surgeon mentioned that they left some clips inside. To this day I have no idea if they are magnetic or not.

I tried Zenni a couple of times. Really wanted to like them. But the glasses they sent me were horrible. I do have a somewhat complex prescription, though. I suspect for basic prescriptions they are OK.

Glad I’m not the only one. I am highly averse to anything that sounds like a “lifestyle brand”. Hollister and such. I’ll never understand people who wear expensive brand name t-shirts and provide free advertising for giant corporations. Ryan George made a pretty funny YouTube video about this strange phenomenon.

Wookieepedia classifies things as canon or legend. I’m not sure how authoritative it is, but it is comprehensive and is good about citing references.

I got a lot of complaints from family, too. Especially because I block Meta. I just let them bitch and I tell them things like “those ads are broken because of malware” which isn’t entirely untrue.

This has been my experience with my own family, neighbors, coworkers, etc. They think of themselves as the good guys “standing firm” against the hoards of those “scary other people” who want to take their guns, raise their taxes, and wage war on Christmas. Even though what those “other people” really want is affordable healthcare, education, and housing.

I have a dark sense of humor but I love this. It’s wholesome and funny, which is hard to pull off. The guy being annoyed throughout the whole thing landed it for me.

Remember that people commenting on the internet are fucking losers too lazy and incompetent to accomplish anything worthwhile or pursue their dreams.

Yeah, I just kamikaze’d.

I try to work on my apathy but working on it means I’ve failed to be apathetic about my apathy. It’s the muscle that only grows when you use it without thinking about using it. It’s worse than Kegels.

Yup. I have friends at work. We don’t really hang out after work or anything. Some of us do regularly text each other outside of work. Mostly jokes and memes, though sometimes other topics.

While I don’t look at my job as a social outlet or meet up place, I do think it’s good to be sociable and friendly at work. Of course there are a few snake-in-the-grass types at work that I maintain distance from. Professional detachment type of thing.

I have a dozen friends or so that I keep in regular contact with (to varying degrees). That’s plenty for me. I’m open to new friends but I am not an active “friend collector” like some people seem to be. Some super extroverted people I know seem to use it to keep score or something. I tend to drift away from that type of person, and then hope they take the hint. My least favorite are the ones you haven’t heard from in years and then they text you out of the blue wanting to reconnect. I don’t ghost them, but I do duck out of it. They’re just bored and being a pest.

Figuratively it works, but literally it doesn’t. I feel like people lose this simple distinction frequently online.

Hard boiled eggs. Astronauts love them because they are almost completely absorbed and pooping in space is a hassle.
