Not to replace the great advice here but if you can use a distroless image (you likely need to make it yourself) then an attacker would have a hell of a time exploiting your system. When attackers find a weakness their goal is usually to gain access to a shell; distroless images don’t have one. By the time they figure this out (or hopefully before) you should’ve detected their presence.
Also, check your logs regularly. Prevention is good but it doesn’t replace monitoring.
Recently, I started my second campaign in Baldurs Gate in addition to the campaign I play with my wife in co-op. My wife and I opted for the easiest difficulty in our playthrough since neither if us ever played similar game....
Take a look at some guides for your character types. You might be doing a bit more role playing and not enough combat specing. I mean not everyone in Faerun can hold their own with a goblin or giant spider. So make sure you’re not making all the wrong choices by mistake.
Also, I got wrecked in a few battles of Act 1 as well. Anytime I fight Githyanki I’m thinking, “Well, there goes half my health potions and revive scrolls.” Don’t be afraid of save scumming and don’t be afraid to stack the deck in your favor. Long rest, drink elixirs, apply buffs, strategically place exploding barrels, and summon familiars if you expect a hard battle. And unless you’re fighting a “boss” or an enemy that has lines of dialogue don’t get concerned about pushing things off cliffs. With most you’re not permanently losing good gear.
I’ve always just used konsole or gnome terminal. Never really looked into what else is available. Tried cool-retro-term the other day, but the novelty wore off pretty fast for me....
I thought the digital trackball of the HTC Incredible was cool as shit. It was my favorite phone and I would still be using it today (not as a phone) if it didn’t have a restart bug that HTC refused to acknowledge.
Main reason I stopped buying Motorola was the ever increasing screen size. I have bad elbows and extended phone use causes pain. A few ounces really does make a difference. A sub-5-inch phone with decent specs would be awesome.
There are a myriad of news articles here on Lemmy that display the abhorrent influence billionaires have on our society (especially the US, where I reside). I consistently read comments where the posters appear hopeless and despondent of the situation, while others jokingly refer to the guillotine....
A wealth tax does seem warranted for billionaires. I don’t like the idea of taxing something inert but honestly that’s how they make money. They borrow against thousands of shares at a time and pay zero taxes on the loan.
Do you have an old PC lying around gathering dust? How about a small-capacity USB flash drive sitting, unloved in a drawer? You can reuse your old computer and a USB flash drive by installing a tiny Linux distribution....
The lack of systemd was something I couldn’t get over. I mean the alternative service managers are good but a few apps I really need have a strong dependency on systemd and the adapter packages just weren’t working. Otherwise I highly recommend AntiX. It made my old netbook feel useful again.
I’m good at breaking down problems into small chunks and not getting overwhelmed by a big project. Do I have the motivation to finish these tasks? That’s a different question.
Never made any before but broth doesn’t seem worth it unless you make a big batch, even then I don’t have the room for a big ass pot or a gallon of broth in my fridge/freezer.
I think I got a crush on my dance instructor. Which fucking sucks for all the obvious reasons. Normally I wouldn’t be so worried. BUT I JUST HAD A GODDAMN ROMANTIC DREAM ABOUT HER. Seriously I just woke up from a dream about her confessing her love to me and me eagerly doing the same about her....
Didn’t hear any compelling reasons as to why an actual relationship would be bad. Having a relationship with an authority figure (teacher, doctor, therapist, etc) is taboo and often illegal, but if there’s really a connection there it should be doable to change up schedules or find new instruction so there’s no conflict anymore. Most of my crushes though have been very superficial and a few conversations dispelled the fantasy.
I think I might cancel. I’m not watching ads and I’m not going to pay the extra $3/mo to opt out. I don’t know if I’d end up paying more than the subscription cost in shipping though…...
I paid for 15 days of Real Debrid and other than running into a lot of non-English streams it’s been great. If I can get it convenient to download shows automatically (I’ve heard of ways to integrate with arr services) I might start cancelling services.
Was using CinemaHD so far. Stremio looks nice but I’d prefer Jellyfin become the new go-to app for media so we’re not still flipping back and forth between apps.

I don’t know what studio (Rockstar maybe) but I’d love a revamp of Freedom Fighters. I reinstall and play through the that game every few years. It’s really almost perfect as-is but graphics could be modernized and AI could be a little less stupid.

If you could have any game remade by a studio of your choice, who would you want working on what?
For example, I’d take We Happy Few and put it into the hands of either Remedy (of Alan Wake & Control fame) or IO Interactive (of Hitman series fame).
