Rounding out my viewing of this snooze fest, there is no way a directors cut can save this film, and certainly adding more time isn’t going to improve it. Dull characters, uninspired environments, generic spacecraft, I’m really struggling to understand how this much time and money can be invested into something so mediocre.
Same, but honestly for me it is such a lonely existence. Even when I show off my projects to friends/family they can’t understand the effort that went into it… many seem to think there’s a “make racing game” button or something and I just added some textures or built a track.
I often wonder if I should pivot into wood working or something else, at least I’d have something tangible to gift or sell at the end. People just seem to appreciate things they can hold in their hands more.
Oh I see… I haven’t used black arch personally, that seems so strange they’d go out of their way to disable that. For whatever is worth vanilla Arch + Xfce + i3 has been super great for my desktop, really brought new life to the hardware
I find this reply kind of confusing, you’re comfortable with Gentoo on a server but installing a DE with pacman was too much? Black arch slim comes with xfce, that should definitely allow you to resize windows lol.
Atmos won’t save you from shitty sound mixes, I have a pretty nice speaker setup and still have to turn on captions if I want to hear a conversation without my neighbors calling the cops during the next action sequence.
I don’t agree, his techniques and format are still good and though expensive, the covert instrument sets are some of the finest tools I have. If the guy wants to make a buck and offer a one stop shop for the hobby I don’t see the problem.
I guess my only complaint with LPL is seemingly running out of challenging locks, which is more a fault of manufacturers.
Playing random characters can help. Picking someone I’m not familiar with for casual play gives me exposure to other styles and helps me become more rounded, while tipping the less experienced player a balanced playing field.
Noting, this PSA is absolutely useful for older components - especially Intel, but anyone using something newer than Skylake (circa 2015) is probably already set up with intel-media-driver or the nv/amd video driver.
nvtop is a useful tool to monitor GPU activity and the decoder in use when a video plays, if you’re unsure
“STEAL IT. Steal away. Steal and steal and steal some more and give it to all your friends.” - Trent Reznor, after record labels jacked up NIN album prices. Then later clarified the best quality rips were on Oink (rip 😢)
