Pelvises that can accommodate both upright walking AND the size of human brains without, you know, killing the humans during birth.

Chetzemoka,

Bullshit

I’m born and raised in Appalachia, my daddy worked in the coal mines and drove an 18 wheeler. Certified redneck enough that I confuse the shit out of my New England neighbors.

I went out and marched with striking nurses when Bernie put out the call, and I’ve never voted Republican in my entire fucking life.

OP, you need to learn what a redneck is.

Chetzemoka,

Your facts don’t support your conclusion, kiddo.

Chetzemoka,

We’re all saying that you’re up-playing it. It’s not that hard to understand.

Here, let me help you:

Chetzemoka,

Also, why isn’t there a slide cover to physically cover the camera, and why can’t I turn off the mic and camera separately? So I just use one of those black foam stickers to cover the camera.

Chetzemoka,

Practical Engineering - in depth presentations of civil engineering feats, concepts, problems, solutions

Joe Scott - just simple, entertaining discussions of interesting topics

Philosophy Tube - longer format, intensely well-cited presentations on philosophy related to current events (with theatrical costumes!)

Ryan Hall - who knew that a weather forecast could be so fun? Regularly updated weather forecasts for the entire United States with detailed coverage and livestreams of events like tornado outbreaks, hurricanes, and large snowstorms. With charity drives to provide supplies to people on the ground

PBS Spacetime, PBS Eons, all the PBS channels really

Plainly Difficult - consistent quality, often hilarious presentations of various disasters. I particularly like his entire series on radiological accidents, often involving lost radioactive sources that random members of the public stumble onto, which is terrifying.

Chetzemoka,

You could actually have an allergy. I met one other person who had a mold allergy that was cross reactive with blue cheeses, and had a similar reaction to them

Chetzemoka,

Sign up for a health savings account and USE IT. (United States specific advice.)

It lowers your taxable income. The only caveat is you have to remember to use that money to buy things you were already going to buy anyway. Convenient hack to know what you can and can’t use: Doordash now labels HSA-eligible items at CVS. You don’t have to actually use Doordash to see which items you can buy with your HSA card.

Chetzemoka,

Push and pull technique.

Push: bitter spray or cayenne pepper on plant leaves to discourage biting

www.chewy.com/dp/504510?utm_source=app-share&…

Pull: cat grass and lots of cat toys. Seriously, buy more toys. Give them something else to focus on.

Chetzemoka,

I mean…

Textbook

Textbook

My actual Anatomy textbook is full of these weirdly sensual illustrations that are just… unnecessary.

Chetzemoka,

I can’t tell you how often this ends old people’s lives. They start to aspirate food, get hospitalized for nasty pneumonia because of it, we try to feed them pureed food (essentially baby food all over again) and thicken their drinks, they struggle to stay hydrated and nourished because of it, they aspirate and end up in the hospital again. Rinse, repeat.

This is shockingly common. Evolution is a dick.

Chetzemoka,

Not gonna lie, being a nurse during a pandemic with that jackass as president broke something in me

Chetzemoka,

TNG photo bombing a team of Martian Marines from The Expanse. We’re doing Expanse crossovers now.

(I highly recommend watching The Expanse. It’s great.)

Chetzemoka,

The secret ingredient is 🌈⭐ misogyny⭐🌈

Chetzemoka, (edited )

Stamets, I’m so sorry. I hadn’t heard. I’ve lost people under bad circumstances. It’s not fair. The world should stop, everything should stop moving and everyone should stop what they’re doing and acknowledge the depth of loss and the void left where they used to be. But it doesn’t stop moving and that’s not fucking right and it’s not fucking fair.

Please do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself. Just do what’s next. Your only obligation in the world right now is to wake up and breathe. Everything else is bonus points. We’ll be here whenever you’re ready or even if you never want to talk to any of us again.

I’m so sorry that a good person is gone.

Chetzemoka,

They actually do need to fly nose first, believe it or not! The warp bubble created by the nacelle has a front side and a back side. Essentially it bunches up space behind the ship and thins it out in front of the ship, turning space itself into a sort of wave that the ship surfs forward on.

This is what I remember from the TNG Tech Manual anyway

Chetzemoka,

Yeah, the problem is it slips too easily into essentialism. “Oh we evolved this way, nothing we can do about it I guess ¯_(ツ)_/¯”

Especially for questions like this, which could pretty easily be explained by cultural influences, no need to bring evolution into it.

Chetzemoka,

Actual regular people haven’t accepted it as normal. Fascists in our country continue to hamstring any efforts to fix the situation because they want the rest of us to keep being reminded that the fascists can and will murder us at will. Standard issue stochastic terrorism.

Chetzemoka,

“We”

I think YOU need to go meet some conservatives, because I have absolutely heard that exact terminology from some of my conservative relatives.

Chetzemoka,

United HealthCare

Oh wait, you CAN’T boycott them. The ultimate monopoly.

Chetzemoka,

I’ve eaten at a 2 star Michelin restaurant. It was definitely theater and not a meal. The Menu is one of the best dark humor movies I’ve ever seen because it’s honestly not that far off lol
