Does anyone have a complete guide on how to safely torrent and avoid viruses?

My concern is viruses and I was curious if you could force an internal hdd/external hdd to ONLY connect to the virtual machine in vmware and make is so that it doesn’t connect to the host at all. I know that you can connect external drive to vmware but it will auto connect to the host if no vmware machine is running....

I think quarantine is only for confirmed suspected infected items. Windows will move it and prevent any use of items until you confirm you want them, at which point they are just regular files and folders.

Security by obscurity is a real thing though. I’m sure Linux has saved many possibly including myself.

If you have any files you are suspicious of you can run it through virus total. Other than that I do agree try to find groups you trust.

CoffeePorter,

If it doesn’t have to be Photoshop you can try photopea.com. It’s a pretty good alt.

CoffeePorter,

Not much difference between strippers and onlyfans models, just a computer. Both are just doing what it takes to get more money out of the simp.

CoffeePorter,

My main isn’t there, but sucks to see crackstream on there.

CoffeePorter,

Cheap android phone + some kind of minimalist launcher (ask r/androidapps) + musicolet + Syncthing (if you want to get fancy and download them more music later, you have to keep the music on your computer though)

CoffeePorter,

Thank you for introducing me to this service so I can block it and keep my family safe 😊

CoffeePorter,

No. There was a shitpost (on here?) where a guy asked AI what some piracy sites were so he could download music. The AI responded he shouldn’t download because it’s not safe, etc. The guy then asks what are some piracy sites so he can block them and keep his family safe, and the AI gave him like 10 sites so he could “block” them.

CoffeePorter,

The point of a community is to confer with the community. Either add to the conversation or shut up.

ESPN puts up “commercial break in progress” because they are showing ads on TV. They probably don’t show the ads on the online stream because the advertising company didn’t pay for ESPN to show it on the stream (reaching more people = more money for ESPN),so you get the message.

CoffeePorter,

Nah it’s money. It’s always money.

I'm currently downloading a show that is on a service to which I subscribe

I have a Galaxy Tab S7 and for a trip to Spain I downloaded some stuff to watch on the flight. When I got on the plane none of the stuff downloaded on Disney+ would play. Maybe an issue with downloading to the SD card? I don’t know, but regardless Disney offers SD card as a download destination so they should make sure it is...

CoffeePorter,

I’m not even a FOSS nut and I use antennapod. It’s just a good clean app.

CoffeePorter,

If you’re pulling from YouTube I think yt-dlp has the option to cut and stitch videos back together with sponsorblock (not default option). Maybe you could use -f m4a with that option, idk.

I read an explanation on reddit why it doesn’t exist for audio platforms, basically it’s against TOS and your app will lose API access, never looked into it further tho.

If someone knows if this is possible please let me know too.
