Damage,

You can make KDE do pretty much whatever you want

Damage,

By that standard, the comic is right and we should say j-feg

Damage,

Ok so I don’t completely agree… The thing is: mobile apps today have this approach where they don’t have “releases”, there’s one entry on the app store, and if you buy that you usually get updates for as long as it exists.

In the past, computer software always had periodic (usually yearly) releases, which meant that if you bought one version, afterwards you’d have maybe updates for bugfixes and such, but no new features. The result was that the development of new features was paid by people replacing the old version with the new one, because they wanted the improved version.

Nowadays you buy the app and you keep getting new features, sometimes for years, and that development is paid solely thanks to new buyers. Which is cool if you are the customer but it’s not great long term for the developer.

Damage,

An ancestor is usually someone who came before a grandparent, they’re likely to have multiple descendants from different families.

Damage,

You’re not your ancestors’ only descendant

If the story is bad it’s because of bad writing.

Damage,

The problem is not snow, it’s the ice that forms on the windscreen during the night, because of the sub-zero temperatures. It takes time to scrape it off, and if you’re late, you do the bare minimum to see where you are going, hoping your car will heat up and melt the rest before you crash!

Damage,

I did that, for my gas heater.

AC is more complex, it has fan speed, air direction (2 of them), temperature settings and so on. I solved with an IR blaster, but that’s not what I wanted, I specifically selected this brand to have local control via wifi.

Damage,

I went with Daikin 'cause they had local control… Except that they changed it in the meantime, and I had 2 different AC splits connected to the pump, one of them is older and still has local control, while the other is newer and doesn’t. Fuck all of them.

Damage,

Are they comparable in price? What is it that you actually do with your computer?

Damage, (edited )

Super meth bros?

Damage,

eh, another one for the blacklist… it’s getting difficult.

Damage,

I left my computer running for 6 days, I never thought I’d get this far! But that electricity bill’s gonna sting…

A Raspberry Pi with an USB drive should use no more than 20W of power, if you want to further your endeavors.

Damage,

Come to Italy then. Our services don’t give a fuck unless you’re actually a terrorist.

And you can pirate all you want with no repercussions.

Damage,

Too bad they own Hoover as well

Damage,

well, seems to me that you need a non-simple gallery app

Are there any good free alternatives to brilliant.org?

I’ve seen brilliant’s website and I like the fact that they make have alot of interactive visually engaging content but I don’t know if it’s worth the price or if there is any free possibly non profit version available that is just as interactive and visually engaging way to learn different math and science topics that...
