They make phone forearm mounts for runners.

I think they meant that they dont attribute either brevity to the level of not conveying a point effectively or verbosity to the point of eroding interest as being particularly good means of communication.

Outside cat / feral cats have had massive negative impacts on bird and small mammal populations. Particularly in areas where they fill an ecological niche that the wildlife hasn’t adapted to due to none of the local fauna being in that niche. Hawaii and Australia in particular have this problem.

Theoretically you’re using actual colors taken from a (or several) environments that you intend to be in. As opposed to a few colors picked by an artist because the artist thought they’d be the colors in those environments.

As for the squares I think it was just an easy way to formulate a pattern digitally. Plus it seemed futuristic at the time.

Hate is a strong word. I definitely don’t trust them to do the right thing in any scenario, but I have to admit in a few spaces like video sharing (YouTube) they are the place to go, with competition being far behind them.

Looks like it’s got some heft to it. That’ll definitely do the job. 8/10

One aspect I think Lemmy lacks is the ability for some contained discussion. To much leads to feed back loops but not enough discourages niche communities.

This is something Reddit’s scale does well. Reddit communities will have most of their posts never make it to the 5th page of All. There will still be break out posts but most likely the only people reading your post are those in your community.

With the current size of most niche lemmy communities you are posting to thise in your community as much as you’re posting to who ever is viewing All by new.

Low effort posts

Ask Lemmy is a place to ask thought provoking questions. The mods have been lenient with some of the recent posts on the basis that they must provoke thought for some people, but after seeing two posts essentially saying “what do you think of my stick?”, I believe we can raise the bar a bit on what kind of thoughts we want...

The stick post was the most upvoted post in the past 7 days.

Both should be welcome. Especially with the current state of Lemmy (low user base), over moderation can be a real thing.

More narrowly tailored communities have narrower appeal and Q&A communities function off of their number of users.

This is one reason why on Reddit r/AskReddit (44M) has more users than r/AskMen (5.8M). And why r/AskMen has more users than r/AskMenOverThirty (458K).

Cardinals are definitely a good bird even in their native range. They should have used a house wren or something.

At least bluejay are blue. They’ve got that going for them. Look at this thing it looks so generic.https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/2bcad674-27d0-4571-9178-cb026c04dde8.jpeg

Even better it’s the real Margot Robbie, the Android community moderator.

If you are the asshole here it’d be because of how you relayed that.

I love that spinosaurus is such a contentious topic in paleontology.

There’s a lot of bad names you can call America, toothless isn’t one of them. A second 9/11 would only increase mil/def sending cause a new series of foreign wars increasing global instability and decreasing the average American’s quality of life.

Totally agree on Ryan Gosling’s performance although I saw both Ken and Barbie as the protagonists when I watched it. Where they both acted as mirrors of each other until the end when they meet in the middle.

Almost like a Man (B+K) vs Self (B+K) conflict as opposed to a Man (B) vs Man (K) style conflict.

They probably didn’t hire any lawyers for their writing team. This is pretty common in legal movies and shows. They aren’t making movies for lawyers who know about ex parte hearings. They’re making movies for the average Joe who can be convinced someone was found guilty in a civil case.
