At this point, I’ve got a lot of containers already running on my system, all in separate directories in my home directory. They’re each set up with a docker-compose file, and all of the volumes are just directories within those directories....
You’re mostly correct. But they reason i’m paranoid because I just don’t think it’s a right thing to spy on people. I’m more kind of a free spirit and share love guy, and I don’t like the idea of living in the world of lies being constantly observed
Edit: In addition, you never know what’s going to be illegal tomorrow, you don’t need anything to hide to feel disgusted about governments spying on people
But cameras are not the only concern, what’s about internet traffic analysis, piracy, ability to rent something or get some service like sim or home internet without documents and stuff
Or even transportation, like busses, trains, etc
Don’t get me wrong, i’m asking so I can have a better picture of how the stuff really works
I’m buying my baking stuff from a b2b shop, and pretty much in bulk
I never count time because it doesn’t make any sense, I have a lot of time, 24h in total a day
In my case home made bread is around the same price with the cheapest bread in my area. And around 3 times cheaper than the bread from the bakeries
I’m also making cheese, so I never need milk and have a ton of whey (no matter how much bread I make, i’m still mostly using the whey for watering the plants)
I don’t know what country you live in, but thousandS of $ is probably a little bit too much
Our oven costs $100, it’s small and electric, but it does it’s things flawlessly
If I would have any land I would even just build one from bricks
I’m mostly melting it right now, pizza, bread, etc
When i will be making some better cheese and more, i will try my best to check how can i share stuff i make with all the people i meet. For now, i’m doing it in Vietnam, so it would be a long trip for a piece of cheese to get to you 🤭
I’ve been aware of pi-hole for a while now, but never bothered with it because I do most web browsing on a laptop where browser extensions like uBlock origin are good enough. It’s from the same devs of aurora store, aurora droid
And really, so much talking and scepticism around a free and open source app, you can go and check the source, or at least read a review about it (though the app wasn’t update
OP is recommending a cool app to spark a conversation, but all the replies are just complaints
Cool people made a cool app, cool people are hosting an alternative fdroid repo so it’s easier and faster for devs to publish their projects for the world to see, and cool people found this app and decided to share with other people
But those people are just behaving like boomers and saying that everything around is fake, dangerous, and so on
If somebody cares for security, why would that person even have root in the first place, same with fdroid, if you care for security you shouldn’t use fdroid
Sorry if i’m being to rough, everything i said is not really addressed to you, i’m just being pissed by people not appreciating somebody’s will to start a nice conversation
P.s. the last update of this app was like 3 years ago, if somebody cares for security, they should never install an app that old, it’s not even about root or some policies
The bootloader has to be unlocked for most approaches to gaining root;
Did you know you can root grapheneos, and lock the bootloader? 😂 pretty dangerous stuff to do, but possible!
concludes that most users are better off getting apps from Google Play.
In general, screw google play, and screw google, or any big corpo, it’s not even about security, but about them being bad companies and bad services
And the same about windows, joy is the most important thing, if software is full of trackers and just designed poorly, why would anyone want to use it 🫠
Tor, metamask, two gcams(no network permissions), librera(i tried avoiding using it because of this in the past), and element, schildi, openweather 1000027182

I personally measure everything, and it should be especially important for people making recipes
A good recipe is the one to make the exact or a very close copy of the dish, not an approximately dish alike
Especially if you make something precise like soap, cheese, and other stuff. Gladly soap makers started using grams for lye… Yes until not a long ago people were using spoons for lye 🫠

Docker by itself is not a good thing, bad with security, not entirely open source, buggy networking, not very reproducible
The problem with docker was timeout for requests, not sure whose falt it was, but the reverse proxy container was unresponsive pretty often
Also, yeah, RPI was not really fast too, it had 8gb ram, boot from ssd Just right now I have i9 with 64gb ram, and this is stupid fast, and actually for most of the apps the performance bump is like 50%
About docker, really, try to look into nixos, it has a really steep learning curve, but it will worth it, and you will be able to do magic
