For me it’s less the attention span thing and more the lack of time

There’s a million things I gave to worry about all pulling me in every direction at the same time

Plus now that my ADHD is actually being addressed it’s way easier to find time for things

I work in the freight industry, their pretty common here too

No worries, just go with the flow it’ll work out

Fun fact though typically the last little bit of drying in the dryer is just cool down time, so just reach in there and grab those toasty boxers, you’ll be fine

My friends used to do this shit all the time at school

Every time we got caught we had to pick a different place

We played Texas hold’em and black jack primarily, poker was usually for late start days

I was homeless for 8 years and a good portion of that I lived in my car

What I wouldn’t have given to have a safe place to park each night during that time

I could write a novel here honestly but I’ll keep it a bit brief:

Don’t ask your toddler which parent they’ll go with if you 2 get a divorce. If you don’t love your partner you should get a divorce. Joint custody is a thing.

Don’t “stay together for the kids” you will only cause them more mental harm in the long run.

Don’t make your young children have to be the most mature person in the room. They should be allowed to be a kid.

Be at least somewhat involved in your kids lives, if you’re not don’t be surprised when they don’t choose to involve you in their lives as they get older.

5 minutes into my shift the other day I took a hydraulic shower because some dingleberry didn’t report an accident where they broke a hydraulic hose on their forklift

They just parked it, grabbed a different forklift, then finished their shift

Then I came in to do my forklift inspections and got blasted with hydraulic fluid from the severed hose the moment I started my testing

So I had to fill out a shit ton of additional paperwork and scrub all the fluid off of me with the soap we had available (foaming hand soap)

I’m just happy that I had extra clothes in my car because if I didn’t that would have really ruined my day

All in all, a really shitty way to start a Friday

Getting sober

It allowed me to actually sort through all of my mental health problems and confront myself on who I was and who I wanted to be

Not to mention how much my physical health has improved

It was honestly the hardest thing I’ve done as well given that I started drinking when I was 12.

I’ve been sober now for 6 years

Edit: In 6 years it will go from “the longest I’ve been sober since I started drinking” to “The longest stretch of time I’ve been sober in my whole life”

I’ll never forget the time my boss call me to have me come in to cover a shift that night while I was chilling on a mountain looking over to Mt Adams while eating my lunch

I was surprised my phone even rang given the location, he was surprised when I told him I was 9 hours from my apartment

I sent him a picture to prove where I was

He was not amused but he did tell me to take a bunch of pictures since I was out there

All in all it was a good day
