HRDS_654,

To make it worse, I found out not too long ago that the version they made me say wasn’t even the original. “Under God” did not exist in the original version of the pledge.

EDIT: For those that were curious, apparently it was added in 1954 under Dwight Eisenhower.

HRDS_654,

I never appreciated Bowie when I was younger, but as I grew older he became one of my favorite artists. Unfortunately, by that time he had largely stepped back from performing, and later it would come out that the reason was that he had cancer. Blackstar is an amazing album but I can’t listen to it often because of how emotional I get.

HRDS_654,

I wouldn’t say it’s significantly different, but it’s different enough. Some of the choices are actually based around the characters, and you get character specific cutscenes.

HRDS_654,

My favorite part about generations is how the cut off changes with every source I look at. Like, technically I’m a millennial, but I was born in '81 which is only sometimes part of the millennial age range and never part of the gen x age range. It’s almost as if generations are entirely fabricated and not real.

HRDS_654,

To give you a hint, Kirby is actually an eldrich god.

HRDS_654,

Not to be that guy, but this is actually the most useless advice ever for someone who genuinely has a computer problem. Like, I like Linux as much as the next person, but asking someone to learn a whole ass OS from scratch on the OFF CHANCE it will fix their issue is not great.

HRDS_654, (edited )

I mean current version really doesn’t mean anything because people aren’t going to upgrade if the version they’re using is fine. I submit that this is a perfect example of correlation != causation. I may have gotten the order wrong on the not equal symbology since I haven’t used it in a while.

Also, are we talking Linux kernal versions? There are so many problems with this comparison.

HRDS_654,

Science is fallible though. Everyone would do themselves a service to remember that. A scientific fact is the best answer we have with the available information we have at the moment. That is the beauty of science, it’s willing to change if better evidence presents itself.

HRDS_654,

It doesn’t help that cops are expected to do so much. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not an excuse to do fucked up things to people, but it is probably a contributing factor. Like mental health for being a police officer can’t be good. This is part of the reason so many people want to defund the police; it isn’t about giving them less money, it’s about moving funding to programs that are more focused so police can focus on their job and not try to be a mental health counselor as well.

Me when my parents visit me randomly and want me to help with some random project.

HRDS_654,

And conveniently forget about all of the problems they have.

HRDS_654,

Bold of you to assume I can control how my body moves while I’m asleep.

HRDS_654,

I’m also too lazy to invest significant time into anything. 🤷‍♂️
