filoni did a great job making the clone wars. i’ll say that. i’m currently watching rebels and mandalorian S03 and am quite disappointed, as usual with newer star wars stuff.

the main thing is: they may not have a grand roadmap like i imagine george had. none of the newer stuff is really that coherent. it spends more time inventing new stuff that never gets expanded on instead of tying into the previously established lore.

the originals were never the greatest movies ever made, and that’s fine. at least it all made sense. it was all explainable. it was coherent.

i feel lost when watching post-2014 stuff, maybe because the lore isn’t established yet, but maybe because it just didn’t get thought through.

absolutely. never read any of the comics, but most of the really interesting stories seem to happen there. would love a well executed starkiller series. i actually did not know about him until i watched some matpat style videos about star wars.

I feel like the Steam Deck is the best proof of Gabe Newell's quote that "piracy is a service issue."

They could have easily crammed the Steam Deck full of stuff to make it hard to use for piracy - locking down everything, making it usable only to play games you legitimately own, force you to go through who knows what hoops in order to play games on it. That’s what Nintendo or Apple or most other companies do....

What phone do you sugest for your grandparents?

I got a task to buy a smart phone for my grandparents, they are not techsavy but they know how to use basic functions. Iam looking for an andoid because it has language pack i need. I dont need it to have lots of functions, onley a good camera and a big screen. Bonus points if it can be flashed with some kind of simplefied...

if you’re located in europe, fairphones might be an option. pretty expensive for what they are, but they get 7 years of software support. plus they’re easily fixable if your grandparents are a bit clumsy.

they have been getting bigger every generation, and the cameras are quite usable under normal lighting conditions.

honestly, i barely know how to write shit for an arduino. i have no prior experience with software. linux stuff is learning by doing. try something and see if that works. the text tutorials in the documentations are often the best way to install stuff. you’ll eventually figure it out.

i’ve always been fascinated how american cops just erupt into chaos whenever something did’t go how they wanted it to, despite not telling the person what they wanted them to do.

How is the piracy experience on an iPad ?

So I am planning on buying an ipad, never owned one before. I have always been an android guy and from what I have heard Ipad os or ios is pretty restrictive in nature so I was wondering how much does it hamper the piracy experience. For example on android I can torrent files of any nature or size without any restrictions and...

my brother has a budget samsung tablet. i’m not a fan of samsung myself, but he says it’s great. way easier file management too. hmu if you want to pirate anything specific, i may know a few websites.

i would recommend using an SBC as a video input device (single board computer) and using whatever service through that. (ideally under linux)
