Krauerking, to comicstrips in Twinkle twinkle little douche [Extra Fabulous]

I love the star shooting through the panes. The action on this is pretty great

Probably all of them?

Krauerking, to mildlyinteresting in This fast food order kiosk accepts cash

We really are just catering to a society of antisocial nerds that hate interacting with people and will destroy the jobs of all those they seem lesser than them huh?

But don’t worry those people can go finger paint or something. See it’s kind and a utopia. Says the people that want this because they don’t have to pay or deal with others. Utopia. For sure.

I say “miserable” and just get a chuckle in response and sometimes “same”… I ain’t playing over here Marilou and your bullshit ain’t helping either!

Krauerking, to comicstrips in Unsolicited friend

See that is such an interesting point because… Yeah. The creature simply exists or doesn’t. It doesn’t comprehend or care that their is a decrease in its population or that of it’s prey just that it’s hungry and struggling to find a mate. We hold no requirements towards other species as they aren’t ours and our dedication should be towards our own. But yet we are aware of other species and able to comprehend them on a bigger scale. And see our own influence on them.

So what do we owe to them and our planet? Do we give in to plain narcissism and grandeur of self importance and do anything to keep ourselves around at loss of all things non-essential? Do we limit ourselves in order to push back against that drive and let creatures who will not thank us for our efforts strive, because they lack the ability to be aware?

I think I’m somewhat selfish in that I view a diverse planet a more interesting one, and that life should be protected. But also I don’t think it should be artificially preserved just to be admired in a glass box.
So yeah we owe them nothing but I don’t think I could ever look at life and simply not care if it all went away because of self interest of humanity. But you are right. The only people who will care is us, but there isn’t anyone else too care.

Krauerking, to asklemmy in What's a food you love, that isn't worth making from scratch?

Seriously it’s the perfect way to do it. You know your pan is hot enough. The butter is nicely browned. I do find a small pan is the right way to keep a good layer but if you have a slightly larger pan using a spatula to keep the butter contained to one space and then put in the grilled cheese while the butter’s still a little solid works too. It’s probably been more than a decade since I last buttered the bread not the pan and I’m not even 30 it’s just the best way.

Krauerking, to asklemmy in What's a food you love, that isn't worth making from scratch?

Honestly, you could probably make loaded hash browns and just make them slightly smaller and it would be pretty awesome. But I do agree that I’m not a big fan of the soak time for potatoes and getting them to bond and cook right.

Krauerking, to asklemmy in What's a food you love, that isn't worth making from scratch?

I just remind myself that I once thought it was a good idea to make an entire thanksgiving dinner for 3 people using a college dorm kitchen, and then the idea of frying a cheese sandwich doesn’t seem that daunting.

Tip though for grilled cheese is butter the pan not the bread.

Krauerking, to science_memes in Slap a "quantum" on it = Instant flux capacitor

Right but how do you measure the things around what you are trying to measure and get any data from it unless you expect them to also interact with the things you are measuring.

You have to have an interaction to measure even if you are measuring the outcome and steps away from the original interaction.

It’s like measuring dark matter where the easiest way to prove it’s existence was to wait and capture the decay of it but not the particle itself. But that means the particle was already gone when we got the measurements to prove it was there.

Krauerking, to science_memes in Slap a "quantum" on it = Instant flux capacitor

Then you are measuring something with matter still and it then affects it. Literally causing interactions to measure means altering it’s state even at a nonchalant glance.

Krauerking, to comicstrips in "Political Nuance" by PervisTime

No see i think there is a problem with Lemmy. Its not seeking to be a new space that fills a need and slowly expand. Its already trying to be a clone of something else. Hoarders came in and moved in all their junk and now its to full of crap to see or move around in. And the forced identity effect is still happening cause it was built upon a communist graveyard and we are haunted by ghosts of people saying the only way forward is still back.

Krauerking, to memes in I just had to throw out a batch that I'd barely started.

Every Costco seems to have a mold problem. If you dont eat or freeze stuff from them that can get moldy expect it to within like 3 days. And this has been true of 3 states

Krauerking, to science_memes in Pretty interesting, huh?

Well dolphins are already being cooked to death in shallow rivers and most of the crabs are gone. Are they fine?

The planet and the concept of organic life will likely be fine but a massive extinction of most life really isn’t “fine” it’s horrific and should be a wake up call at the concept of that amount of loss of life and diversity.

Whatever remains even if humans are part of it would be so vastly different it’s hard to even begin to predict the appearance of it. It’s like saying don’t worry the dinosaurs survived their apocalypse cause that chicken you ate for dinner shared an ancestor.

Best case scenario is a mostly dead planet where we stay in large concrete bunkers all day and eat the phytoplankton blooms on the surface of the ocean that killed most interior life for protein and substance while we hide from the sun… Yay. What a life. And that’s saying no one struggles while drowning and throws bombs around.

I know hope is how people get through all this and you just got to keep it to move forward but like we need to realistically look at the future in order to not just be blinded by a false hope because it’s easier and what is needed to be sold to people so they keep consuming without looking at where it’s leading us.

There isn’t hyperbole in the horrors that happen because we couldn’t get our shit together.

Krauerking, to piracy in Have 4K TV show torrents entirely disappeared from public trackers?

Man ripping from Amazon might as well be called downloading the file. Their video player sucks so much.

Krauerking, to piracy in Where'd the music go?

Hell yeah. I do that still but I found i really like 4k video downloader cause I could make a playlist and just grab the whole thing. Though I don’t care for their new app even if they are pushing it.
