Does AI-generated art posted on lemmy bother you?

I find that i can spot AI Images fairly easily these days, especially the sort of fantastical tableaus that get posted to the various AI communities around lemmy. I’m tired of seeing them; it all looks the same to me. Was wondering if im being too sensitive, or if other people are similarly bored of the constant unimaginative...

Lemminary,

“Yes” scribbled on the ceiling that you can only see if you climb this ladder and look at it with a magnifying glass.

What can the US do to help Mexico finally stop the cartels?

Politicians constantly talk about stopping the illegal immigrants that are coming from Mexico, but putting a wall has never and will never be a solution since the reason why so many displaced keep coming across the border is mostly to escape the crime, corruption, inequality, and violence of they have to live in their home...

Yeah, that’s why they do end up legitimizing after some time for some of these reasons. lol So maybe it’s a good thing in the grand scheme of things, even if it’s kind of shitty for the people who played fair to get to where the others got for free.

Lemminary,

questions that we don’t have scientific answers for yet, or that science can’t possibly answer

I’ll be the Devil’s advocate for this one and say that there are very few questions that science can’t legitimately answer to any degree, like what consciousness is. But for others like why the universe became what it is today and how it works, it’s just not a satisfying answer for someone who has no interest or hasn’t studied physics and chemistry to a reasonable degree. Like, the way that we can partly explain a lot of what goes on from the flow of energy or that life’s purpose is to reproduce in biology, what a let down of an answer that is for someone who was promised a grandiose explanation of everything.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that I can see why people retreat back to religion for these answers. And tangentially, this is why I think we need more people like Carl Sagan who can genuinely paint our understanding of the natural world in a more awe-inspiring way for the average person without becoming a meme themselves like some of these other celebrities.

The Godfather. And I don’t really plan on seeing it because I don’t like the genre or those tropes.

I hear good things about How I Met Your Mother but I’m too lazy to pillage it. Arrgh!

It’s American Eagle for me. Their pants have lasted me for longer than any other brand that I’ve worn regularly. Also, I don’t have to adjust them because they just fit.

Lemminary,

these fastfood patriots are going to […] die of fox news induced aneurysm COVID

Lemminary,

ohnopodcast.com

Oh No, It’s Ross and Carrie

“the show where we don’t just report on spirituality, fringe science and claims of the paranormal, but take part ourselves. We join religions, undergo alternative medical treatments, and hunt for ghost, goblins, demons, and deities. If it has an extraordinary claim attached to it, we’ll check it out.”

Lemminary,

I think you got here a little too early. The dam has ruptured and we’re soaking wet. 🥵

Lemminary,

I don’t know what that means but it sounds hilarious

What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

EDIT: Let’s cool it with the downvotes, dudes. We’re not out to cut funding to your black hole detection chamber or revoke the degrees of chiropractors just because a couple of us don’t believe in it, okay? Chill out, participate with the prompt and continue with having a nice day. I’m sure almost everybody has something...

I’d start with the quacks that have infiltrated the WHO and have publications on it. It’s ridiculous.

I doesn’t matter, we will keep trying until we conceive, Mighty!

Lemminary,

has a history of being highly transphobic

Just wanted to add that it has gotten better. I mean, now we even have straight queens who damn well know how to serve, sew, and read. Unthinkable back in the day!

Lemminary,

I’ve never had problems for being short. Maybe I haven’t been paying attention but there’s nothing a stool or a chair can’t fix. Also, climbing on furniture is easy but rare. 🤷‍♂️

Lemminary,

I think I’ve seen E2A to avoid the confusion but I’m not sure how much that helps.

Cakes also have layers and everybody loves cakes. Wear a cake.

Lemminary, (edited )

From the House of Anárion? (Jk, I had never heard of this food and sounds like either a warrior or a place in Middle Earth)

Lemminary,

I have some extended family who does this. They’re not good people.

Lemminary,

I am so swole. My neck is thicker than my shoulders.

Lemminary,

Does anyone else have cock block dreams? Sometimes I’m trying to get down with the person but everything gets in the way, it’s frustrating lol
