MonkCanatella,

Someone installed chimera os already! Should be in YouTube search results

I do think they’ll release an amd version

MonkCanatella,

Also for media creation, using my main pc and nvme as a staging area and moving finished work and archived projects to my NAS is really helped along by the 10g connection I have. Easily saturates it with 6x7200rpm exos drives.

MonkCanatella,

Hmm that’s a good point. Though I think it shouldn’t be too bad unless under heavy load all the time. I think the CPU is made for laptops. That said it’d definitely have to be doing more than just working as an opnsense box

MonkCanatella,

the pci slot would be able to be used for external storage, like connecting to a nas or das. serve the home found you can add one of these though I don’t think they tested that it can hit the max theoretical throughput of 96gbps.

MonkCanatella,

I updated it.

MonkCanatella,

I just tried it out and it’s purely cosmetic - basically just puts your bookmarks bar to the left hand side, but it’s not like rambox or opera or floorp. It just opens a new tab

MonkCanatella,

Kindles allow loading epubs nowadays btw. You can even add epubs from one of their websites. I like to sideload mine to get features that kindle epubs have that sideloaded ones don’t, like scrolling the text instead of having to flip pages

MonkCanatella,

Well a lot of what I like I can just download from qobuz or spotify. Lots of other stuff I can find on nicotine. What’s most difficult though, is obscure artists in the electronic, experimental and art music genres. For example one of my tests for how thorough a catalog is is by searching for classical composers Taneyev and Arensky, or the electronic artist Forss (who coincidentally founded soundcloud). I especially like to look for lossless audio like flac

MonkCanatella,

Rad, Red is impossible to get into. That would be a dream actually. Of all things, music is the hardest for me to find in high quality. I would so appreciate if you were to share if you find the font there!

MonkCanatella,

I did some research yesterday and it looks like silver blue has some rebase command that does something similar. Universal Blue is using that to make it easy to switch between DEs, netting a very similar result!

MonkCanatella,

Yeah it’s not in a useable state. If you do a custom partition, it installls the bootloader wrong lol

MonkCanatella,

Good looking out. I installed this and verified it’s working, but does this automatically start at start up? I can’t seem to get systemctl enable to work on it.

MonkCanatella,

I have Qobuz and Spotify. There are downloaders for stuff you like enough to archive. I’d probably be happy enough if I didn’t go through my old playlists and find that they just randomly delete shit ALL the time. So stuff I really like, I try to download before it’s gone. Nicotine+ like others have said is probably the most complete you can ask for, but quality can be an issue. The best is private trackers but considering that getting into one is like a full time job, at the point you can’t find something you really want, just buy it or something.

MonkCanatella,

vstorrent

good looking out, very nice site, thank you.

MonkCanatella,

I think both of your statements are correct - lots of innovations are right in front of us, are simple, and that’s the kinda shit scientists love. More kids, but really people of any age, should be given opportunities like this given passion or even a passing curiosity.

MonkCanatella,

From my understanding, Nix is currently reproducible in that you can easily run an install with a script that gets you set up with the packages and configuration that you want, but the announcement is that they can verify the binaries that they ship are faithful to their source, and haven’t been tampered with anywhere in the build pipeline

That is almost word for word would the body of the post says

Shkshkshk, to piracy
@Shkshkshk@dice.camp avatar

Is ProtonVPN worth it?

@piracy

Got reminded of this while reading about ProtonMail. The reason I haven't gotten into proper is that I don't have a VPN for torrenting, and the reason I don't have a VPN is that I don't . So it would be nice if I got a good VPN while myself.

Will ProtonVPN rat me out to Comcast? I know some VPNs don't hide what you're downloading from your ISP, for reasons I don't fully understand.

MonkCanatella,

Ok? Didn’t ask but go off lil buddy

MonkCanatella,

ok and?

MonkCanatella,

lol, some of this guy’s comics are just ridiculously funny.

MonkCanatella,

yeah any wm or de has or should have that capability. Windows and mac allow that as well. I’m talking about specifically which apps are pinned to your taskbar. which sway and most wms that I’m aware of don’t have

MonkCanatella,

this the only thing keeping me from moving from windows
