Honestly, I’d love it if platforms gave people the option to either pay a subscription and maintain the privacy, or see ads and give up their personal data. However, it looks like we’re going in the, “pay a subscription to watch ads and have data stolen” route.
Yeah, I mean, one of the most annoying parts is that there could have been ways for them to draw attention to characters being gay without it feeling pandery. Like, maybe Joestar Humantrek has a Caitian boyfriend and there’s a recurring gag where Joestar Humantrek is regularly in sickbay with a bleeding anus. Now you draw attention to the gay characters but it doesn’t feel pandery because the focus isn’t that Joestar Humantrek is gay, the focus is that Joestar Humantrek keeps winding up with a perforated colon because he can’t stop taking his boyfriend’s barbed cat dick in the ass.
I might be wrong, but isn’t everything on there already a requirement? I think the mental health check is the only thing that isn’t (unless you consider losing your right to own a gun after being involuntarily committed for any reason to be a mental health check). The problem is that even our existing gun control laws aren’t being properly enforced (otherwise that wouldn’t be part of the poll). I think there needs to be more gun control. I’m just not sure that more gun control is going to work because the government won’t enforce what’s already there.
I personally think a licensing system similar to what we have for cars would help a lot. Want a double-barrel shotgun? The current system would probably work for that. Want an AR-15? You need the enthusiast license which involves a week or two of training, a basic mental health evaluation, and a gun safe (not a flimsy lockbox) to store it in. Want a .50 cal, belt-fed browning machine gun? You gotta get the super ultra deluxe license that requires a year of training and mental health checks, background checks complete with colonoscopies from the FBI and ATF, and you still need a gun safe to store it in. Finally, if your gun is used in a crime then you’re considered to be an accomplice. Your only defense is if you can prove it was properly stored and you reported it as stolen within a reasonable amount of time.
Edit: I got it guys, I’m wrong about existing gun control. I’m leaving the post up because there may be others who are also confused about it.
Counterpoint: we’re in an educational program. The program is about the horrors of the 21st century, including climate change, greed, the rise of AI in a capitalist society, COVID, the return of fascism, the fall of the west and god knows what else. The tech bros, billionaires, politicians, etc aren’t actually real, it’s everyone else who is. Why? Those positions are too comfy and your students might learn the wrong lessons if you let them participate as trump or musk.
Right, but they’re not going to do their job very well if they’re sleepy. Over time evolution is going to select for the nightwatchers who don’t get sleepy and overlook the shadows in the night, leading to humans who are comfortable being awake at night, and humans who are comfortable being awake during the day. The day humans get food, make clothes, etc for the night humans who make sure the farmers, gatherers, etc are safe when they’re asleep.
Edit: I wonder if there’s a correlation between being ADHD, being a night owl, and gun ownership. ADHD is speculated to be a residual evolutionary trait from when humans were hunter gatherers due to a typically heightened awareness; I wonder how often ADHD humans found themselves as the nightwatch as humans graduated to farming.
Only because rich sociopaths decided that it was better to force the serfs into working at the same times than it was to allow people to work around the clock according to their own sleep schedules. Before you try to tell me that this isn’t a rich people thing, you absolutely can’t convince that it didn’t start that way. Rich people’s money may not trickle down, but their bad opinions and beliefs sure as hell do.
I’m quite happy waking up at 3pm and going to bed at 6am. To be honest, I think anyone waking up at or before 10am and going to bed before 12am is a weirdo who has sleep issues and I just can’t respect that. If I make too much noise when you’re trying to sleep, well, that’s just too bad innit?
Is reloading PCs really still a thing anymore? I’d been told that it stopped being necessary (unless you fucked something up) somewhere around windows 7.
You should check my other messages in this thread. I don’t know if I really believe it like your brother, but it is interesting to interpret the Bible as if it was inspired my aliens.
