Sometimes the “offense” that guys feel over guys wearing skirts and stuff is definitely from closeted thoughts or outright self-hate, but that’s not necessarily the case. The underlying issue is they view clothing as gendered in the first place.
Style shouldn’t be associated with sexual attraction implicitly, but it does for stupid people, and many people are stupid. Especially horny guys thinking with the wrong head.
The mere presence of a particular article turns them on, and they project that to intent. It is entirely subjective if they get upset at popping a boner, or upset that a male would use clothing that traditionally makes a female sexy. It requires the dumb person to view another’s clothing choice as a direct expression to them, but stupid people taking things personally that aren’t personal should be preeeetty easy to understand!
It’s a lesser mindset, male-focused version of, “what was she wearing?” after an SA event. Just because I’m trying to look pretty and you like some part of that, I am still most definitely not coming on to you by wearing it.
No, that’s not the way language works. No, that’s not how education or degrees or engineering works, either.
You would have to fundamentally change the meaning of several well established words before “computer engineer” will EVER actually refer to tech support.
That’s because they’re lying idiots, not computer engineers. I can call myself a beutiful woman, but that doesn’t make it true, nor would me calling myself a beutiful woman EVER change what “beutiful woman” means to others.
Magnets transmit force, they don’t magically create energy. It takes energy to move the car, not just a static force being present. It’s the same as taping a stick to it without the magnets. Unless someone pulls on the stick (or magnet), no energy is entering the system and no work can be done.
Uh… no? Well, maybe for the guy in the picture because they’re clearly dumb, but “computer engineer” sounds more like chip design and circuit layout than even software engineering, let alone basic IT work…
Basic IT work is wholly and completely different than any kind of computer-related engineering.
See, if they wanted to make a drama-fest Trek, THAT would be a perfect way. Discovery’s style of bastardizing everything about Starfleet is exactly the wrong way. It shouldn’t matter if they’ve made the same mistake in some of the Trek movies. It’s ALWAYS a mistake to bastardize things instead of creating new angles.
Especially when there are a few examples of amazing actors that you can know and still sometimes struggle to recognize them in their characters. Like Gary Oldman, and … uh… OK well I’m not in a movie headspace, but he’s not the only one!
Tons of lesser names that play great side/background characters and it’s hard to tell, too, so I totally agree others need chances at lead characters.
Those are the actors I’m never tired of because their characters are almost always unique characters.
They aren’t confusing the terms. It’s just that “libertarians” in the US are largely viewed as right-wing anti-authority, whereas on the global stage, they’re kindof like normal anarchist-lite. If you say, “well that’s not very specific”, then yes that’s correct.
