This is kind of hard to explain, but hopefully it makes sense. I don’t think a screenshot would help because everything “LOOKS” fine. But the characters in my Ubuntu VM console look funny. And I can’t drag my mouse across the text to select it. Nor cacn I right-click. The console works fine, and I can run commands. I...
What could be reasons for my rsync, which is syncing two remote servers through ssh, to slow down over time like this? It keeps happening. How to check what is the bottleneck?
I have a Shelly Dimmer2 flashed with Tasmota. It has two ‘switch’ inputs. I have the shelly installed behind a two-gang switch box with the two inputs connected to two different switches. But currently, if I flip either switch, the same light is flipped (the one connected to the output of the Shelly Dimmer)...
I might love a part and strongly dislike the other part of a post or comment. Why can’t I both upvote and downvote? Double tap for a conflicted situation? Why am I restricted to the net of my opinions?...
You should develop an awareness: When are you ready to fall asleep ‘NOW’? This opportunity repeats about every 20 minutes.
Go to bed, then do your thing, whatever you do while waiting for sleep to come (I read a book). If you recognize that you yawn, then stop immediately with everything that you’ve been doing. Lights off, be still and just let it happen.
I have been hosting a few websites from my home server and it has taught me a lot. I have recently had major issues with the electrical storms, Kogan NBN support (Australia), and the NBN network in general. I know 4g is not fast, but I would like to use it so that in the event of a network outage, im not at the mercy of NBN. On...
There was a time when people used to have 2400 bits per second from home (for the youngsters: that is 0.0003M). So if you are doing it for fun, why not.
We are thrilled to announce the release of Stalwart Mail Server 0.5.2, which brings two significant advancements: the integration of the ACME protocol for automatic TLS certificate deployment and support for the HAProxy Protocol. it’s like with pets. We can build bonds with them because we learnt to understand each others body language even though we don’t speak the same language
Nice example :-)
I have read that cats use their meowing ONLY when they communicate with humans. Among other cats / animals, they use different languages.
every Linux distro I’ve ever used for years, desktop and server, has used systemd and I’ve never experienced single problem that those users claim I will.
That means simply that you have never used systemd. You have only used a linux distro.
When you use a car only from the backseat and have some driver driving it for you, then you aren’t going to have any complaint about the engine.
Systemd becomes the more horrible, the closer you get to it.
Are Americans more prone to conspiracy theories than people in other countries?
It’s wild.

What do you think is the coolest designed sci-fi gun?
I mean the physical design of the gun, not the projectile or effect.
Why in the year 2024 and with all the knowledge humans have now do people still believe in religion?

What really popular movie or TV show have you never seen?
When I tell people I’ve never seen the Lion King they are really baffled by that.
What's some amazing technology they have in Japan that's very normal to them but would blow our minds here in the US and western world?
Tasmota on Shelly Dimmer2 - can I use the two switch inputs for different outputs in HA?

Can't we just start calling it "Formerly Twitter" instead?
Pretty much the title. I think you all know what I’m talking about.
Why can't I both upvote and downvote posts/comments?

As a child I mean.
Which child would you prioritize in this hypothetical scenario?
