NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in Why do people not understand that you can agree with one thing someone said or did while disagreeing with the majority of what they stand for?

Unrelated to your example (tl;dr): most people find it exhausting to use their brain for actual thinking. They use it for excercising simple prejudice.

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

Homeopathy. All about it.

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in What are the odds of getting a passing grade by sheer guessing here?

But in order to get 100% in your second try, you can have either 0% or 50% in the first.

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in What are the odds of getting a passing grade by sheer guessing here?

But you are assuming that he cannot remember his answers from the first try, and whether they were right or wrong.

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in What are the odds of getting a passing grade by sheer guessing here?

Let’s say you use both tries and you remember your previous two respected answers.

Important question here:

If your first try gives you a grade of 50%, do they tell you which one of your answers was the right one and which one was the wrong one?

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in Honestly - How much will you sacrifice for a better world?

I’ll sacrifice enough of my time to help build the guillotines we’ll need to deal with the root cause of these problems.

Billions of guillotines??

I do not want to know your dreams at night…

NeoNachtwaechter, (edited ) to asklemmy in Honestly - How much will you sacrifice for a better world?

build a better world

Doesn’t work because that goal doesn’t say much.

People are willing to spend or sacrifice for specific goals with good chances of actually reaching them. Otherwise they would turn away, unimpressed.

Also, the measure of how good the chances must be, and how specific the goal needs to be, is very diverse between the cultures and societies.

So, less is more: limit your scope to 1 country and culture, restrain your goals to specific and realistic ones, and you can achieve a lot with many followers.

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in What do you think would happen if Putin was assassinated right now?

"Doppelgangers! Listen!

There is a good news and a bad news for you this morning.

The good news is: Our Great Leader has survived the dangerous attack last night.

The other news is: He has lost his right arm. "

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in What is the most cost effective solar battery on the market today?

Owning a home AND being stupid is a good way to become poor. So what.

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in What is the most cost effective solar battery on the market today?

The most cost effective ones are not exactly on the market.

You order the parts and the needed tools/devices from the land of the free mail order businesses, and then you follow some youtube tutorial for instructions how to build your battery. Saves you thousands.

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in What do you think would happen if Putin was assassinated right now?

largely to secure someone’s position in their upper ranks

Yes, or simply because noone else really wants this war (=wants the country to pay the price of this war).

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in What do you think would happen if Putin was assassinated right now?

Currently, there is no other really powerful figure next to him.

Therefore a giant power vacuum emerges.

The war would stop, probably very soon. But then the situation gets chaotic and unpredictable.

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in You have to spend the rest of your life in a micronation. Which do you choose?

Never seen so many bucks per square meter.

NeoNachtwaechter, to asklemmy in Would reverting back to tribes or city-states not be sufficient to save us from ourselves?

No, it’s sick :-)
