See, that's the thing: I very much mind "working around some issues" in gaming and in gaming alone. I'm as much of a tinkerer when it comes to software as the next guy, but now with a child and all of those pesky responsibilities that slowly pile up as you age, gaming time is
a) scarce and
b) the only real "wind down" time I get
I have time for other things that make me happy mind you, but gaming time needs to be different you cannot dive into an RPG and do subtle story Sidequests and whatnot if you can't dive into the game fully, switch off everything else for a time. Whenever I can do that, any "small issue" I'd need to work around would make me MAD.
Gaming is the one thing where I don't want the super customizable OS that works exactly as I want that I can get with Linux. I want to press play and be taken to a place where peasants will task any random stranger to bring their child somewhere and any Lord will entrust his kingdom into some random dipshit he just.met.
Really, how can I stop them from eating my plants? Some don’t have leaves anymore. They are not even edible. They are even biting the cacti for some reason....
The very evening I installed Linux for the first time (I think it was Ubuntu 12.04), my Wifi stick was the first major hurdle. I was a teenager, had no idea about package managers and such, but the drivers for my stick were only available in an uncompiled format, so I had to first learn what build utils and kernel dev packages were, download them and their dependencies onto the windows PC of my dad and copy them onto a CD.
After I had figured all that out (took me.a while), I learned how to compile on the fly.
After I had run ./configure and it finallyfinally ran through without error, the config script had this last line:
Configure done successfully. Now type 'make' and pray
Things have changed over the years, but they haven't changed enough.
Am I the only one not getting that reference? Whatever it is: is it mainstream enough for the Memes community? (I mean... it could be, not the first time I'm out of the loop)
Starship running on mushrooms? Yeah, why not
The mushrooms are some omnipresent thing connecting all space and time together and giving some special super powers somehow? The force stolen you have. Integration of science fantasy into science fiction unasked for was.
The reason I gave up on MP3’s and subscribed to Spotify was because Spotify was easy. I’ve been listening “Iron Maiden - Empire of the Clouds” song every day and like a week ago, its removed. This was the last straw for me. Right now I’m trying to find “Stremio” of the music world. Can someone assist?...
