There is an entire subsection of the population that eats Long John Silvers. They walk among us. You never know who they are. Your cashier at the grocery store? Could have eaten LJS that very day. Your doctor? Your own wife? They could be Long John Silvers patrons without you ever being any the wiser.

We need to START calling out these people and STOP supporting Long John Silvers.

Wait you’re telling me that movie had a plot and wasn’t just about how bad I wanted that bad French bih to sit on my face?

What are some of the stranger adaptations/adjustments to corporate culture you've noticed, and imagine emerging?

By corporate culture I mean like what you see with GoogleYouTube/MetaFacebook/etc. to accommodate advertisers and influence people to engage and acknowledge adverts. In turn, by adapt/adjust I mean how some people bleep curses out like fuck/shit/etc., say unalive instead of commit suicide/kill oneself, and make notorious video...

The amount of people who just mindlessly accepted that certain words were forbidden has ruined any faith I had of us making it out of “this.” I’m not talking about hate speech, but seeing literal baby-speak like “corn” in place of porn, “rake” for rape, or “unalive” for suicide is ridiculous. How anyone can type those out in an otherwise serious context is beyond me

For what reason? He’s never held a public office AFAIK. His personal politics are irrelevant with that in mind

“Is tiktok still the go-to app”

Am I just old or does it seem way too soon to use this type of language with TikTok? Seems like it just got big within the past few years.

Sounds like you know damn well where he is

What are some food items that cost less than what they "should"?

Bananas are ridiculously cheap even up here in Canada, and they aren’t grown anywhere near here. Yet a banana can grow, be harvested, be shipped, be stocked, and then be purchased by me for less than it’d cost to mail a letter across town. (Well, if I could buy a single banana maybe…or maybe that’s not the best...

Rice. A 20lb bag can provide 70% of your food volume for a month and costs like $10. Easily the best poverty food hack there is.

Electric cars don’t solve every problem with private vehicle ownership but they’re certainly a step in the right direction. Most EVs average an equivalent of more than 100mpg versus most ICEs, which are around 30-40. You can also power an EV with renewable resources. This isn’t possible with ICEs (yes, I know you can power certain diesels with biofuel, but it’s horribly inefficient).

“Buying a new car is worse than keeping an old one” is an incredibly situational phrase that has a million exceptions for so many people.
