PeriodicallyPedantic,

Judging from this comment section, I have clearly missed something

PeriodicallyPedantic,

Was matpat big with zoomers? I thought he was more a millennial audience 🤔

PeriodicallyPedantic,

I’m trying to figure out what X-ray equipment can be stolen that is worth only thousands of dollars. A case of those films you bite on when they x-ray your teeth?

PeriodicallyPedantic,

Key word “tries” I would die of embarrassment if someone was like “I noticed you’re lonely so have this huge ass flag to indicate to everyone that you’re alone”

PeriodicallyPedantic,

It’s an unfortunately nuanced subject, where people don’t agree on the underlying definitions of words. For instance, I think you’re confusing “capitalism” with “democracy”. You can have authoritarian undemocratic capitalist countries, where you can’t talk shit about your government.

For me personally, I think communism has too many issues to actually try, but I like some of its theoretical tennants when compared to that of capitalism. Those goals are something to strive for. The spirit of communism is helping eachother and rewarding work, and the spirit of capitalism is sacrificing others for personal gain

PeriodicallyPedantic,

For context (tried to add it to the post, but it didn’t seem to like both an image and a link at once)

PeriodicallyPedantic,

I’d bonk you to horny jail, but I get the feeling that it might be more reward than punishment

PeriodicallyPedantic,

When you grow older, you will feel the betrayal of the bed. You will wake sore all over as though your bed beat you while you slept. Back, hips, shoulders, neck, all targets of the bed.

PeriodicallyPedantic,

Tbf in this scenario, google reports you to the police. You get arrested in either scenario.

PeriodicallyPedantic,

We will never consumer our way of of a problem capitalism created. And public transit is nearly always a better solution to spending on car infrastructure.

… but… If you’re gonna buy a new car anyway, they have the potential to cause less climate impact (although they’re still environmentally devastating in other ways). As power generation becomes cleaner, so too do the cars. ICE cars are already about as environmentally friendly as they’re gonna get, but EVs still have a lot of potential improvement (both in emissions and in things like material mining).

Although the tire microplastics is gonna get worse.

PeriodicallyPedantic,

Yeah, it’s cyclical. They’re re-entering their shithead phase.

Embrace. Extend. Extinguish. The got smacked with those EU antitrust lawsuits and they reset back to Embrace, and started participating in open-source again. Then they started extending by doing shit like buying GitHub and adding even more cool shit to it. Now they’re entering in extinguish phase where they’re doing shit like making it difficult to change default browser, and integrating all their services together without the ability to integrate 3rd parties.

They’ll (hopefully) get smacked with another EU antitrust lawsuit and reset soon.
