What's the name of the belief that gods/entities are quasi-semtient memes (the linguistic term, not the cultural term) in the same manner that corporations and governments are considered people?

It’s a personal philosophy that I’ve come to use as my own form of religion, and while I’m aware other people have researched the idea, I’m having some trouble finding the name for the concept.

Pons_Aelius,

This was my thought as well.

Gods exist because humans believe in them. The stronger the belief, the stronger the God.

As belief fades, so does the Deity and their power.

Pons_Aelius,

We have an idea what 1523 English sounded like.

In the early 2000s the Globe in London did productions of Shakespeare in the original pronunciation.

Here is how the opening of Romeo and Juliet would have sounded.

For real shits and giggles:

You get dropped exactly where you are now, just 500 years ago. All the European descended people not living in Europe are (very likely) in for a bad time.

Pons_Aelius,

He does for this in.

Yes, there is a definite similarity there.

Pons_Aelius,

Why are you sour?

Scenario 2 is where you would be outed as a time traveller.

Scenario 1 is where you would be outed as a witch.

Not sure witch would happen first.

Pons_Aelius,

What I really hate is an account that posts a ridiculous number of youtube links.

Pons_Aelius,

The digestive system actually has a high number of neurons.

Think Twice: How the Gut's "Second Brain" Influences Mood and Well-Being

It has the second highest concentration in the body, after the skull. Since the human bite force is not strong enough to penetrate the human skull the zombies are actually targeting the next best area to eat brains.

Pons_Aelius,

I agree but a direct adaptation of the books would not make a good TV show.

The books are a series of vignettes spaced decades apart with no continuing characters and each is a separate short story. While they work in the written form, they would not on the screen.

Pons_Aelius,

Ars Technica

They have been great for a long time.

The comments section there has some serious subject matter experts on a wide range of technology.

Pons_Aelius,

This sparked a memory.

I uploaded a video of a party there 15+ years ago. Have not thought about it in more than a decade...yep it is still there.

Pons_Aelius,

I assume what op is looking for is a long term non-selfhosted backup of their videos.

From the comments here I think just uploading (encrypted if they feel that is necessary) to a free cloud storage account would also be an option. May be upload to several for redundancy.

Pons_Aelius,

Shostakovich, particularly his 7th (The Leningrad) Symphony which will always have a special place in my heart.

Pons_Aelius,

I consider it spam when you see that someone posted to a community 30+ times within one fucking hour.

Then by that bench mark I have never seen spam here.

So I assume this is hyperbole on your part.

Pons_Aelius,

spamming 30-40 posts within a single hour.

Which I have never seen.

Can you link an account that has done this?

Pons_Aelius, (edited )

I’m not here to call people out.

That is the whole point of this post...

I have never seen the behaviour you describe and you won't provide any evidence of behaviour that motivated you to post this.

You are creating drama for it own sake.

If that is what you need, enjoy.

Pons_Aelius,

Do you think creating a community and leaving it empty will bring people to the community?

People create a community because they want it to have activity and it is something they are interested in.

but I block those people and even sometimes the community

Which is a perfectly fine response but if you don't want to see this type of content why not only view the communities you are subscribed to?

Then you will never see any of this?
