Yeah how each instance and community handles moderation is a little different, both a benefit and curse of the federated model. Lemmy.world is most “Reddit-like” in communities and moderation philosophy.
Be sure to read the community sidebar rules and instance rules you post to if you aren’t sure. Then again, people who break the written or unwritten rules tend to have the stuff removed, warned and then banned only if they don’t knock it off.
So don’t take it too hard on yourself, especially since it seems you understand their reasoning.
As a general tip, when you do actions on other servers using your lemmy.ca account, you stay on lemmy.ca and attach things at the end e.g. lemmy.ca/c/memes@sopuli.xyz or lemmy.ca/u/admin@beehaw.org. That’s how you maintain your identity without giving away your username/password directly to the other sites.
But why do two jobs? Won’t people do a better job concentrating on one thing and getting $2000 for that, instead of gaining experience in two different areas at the same time?
It’s because McDonald’s was trying to make an excuse that paying people US Federal Minimum wage (7.25$/hr since 2009, it’s still that in 2023) is enough to live on, and utterly failed, even while holding both a 40h a week and 30h a week min wage job. I guess they expect fast food employees to use to make their own fast food while they’re there as their food budget.
It was a case in point in 2013, rent and all expenses are way up since then. People aren’t going to make a living or have any savings at all, probably accruing more debt even with 2 jobs and less than the minimum of expenses.
Props to the Lemmy-ui devs for designing a mobile capable site that’s light and works well.
I use Jerboa but I have to switch to browser to view other Lemmy server links but it’s seamless, and better than what I can say for 95% of modern mobile websites.
Cool. Do you know if this project will support PowerPC-era Mac OS X apps or if that makes any difference? There are a bunch of quirky and fun games that could avoid being lost to time if an “emulator” can run them.
I haven’t minded the tongue-in-cheek jokes about distros since forever, but people who take it way too seriously, and don’t see that each distro has its benefits and drawbacks are kinda annoying.
