What is your unpopular flim opinion

I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds

Grave of the fireflies left a deep impression with me. I recently saw a bunch of them with my girlfriend and I’ve come to the conclusion that most are nice looking long TV show episodes. Which is fine for what the are.

Dude same here. I usually say stuff along the lines of ‘yea it took me forever the first time to figure it out’ or ‘it’s a common issue that a lot of people have, I’ll get it sorted in a sec for you no problem’. Make it seem like they’re not stupid, regardless of the truth and then fix it, keeps em happy and more willing to cooperate with you as well.

I also talk through what I’m doing and if they show interest I’ll teach them so they can fix it in the future, ‘ah I’ve seen this before, took me like a hour to figure it out on my computer, for me it was a chrome update that broke how downloaded files open. Here let me right click the file, and go to open with, we hit Adobe pdf and check the always open with this program button, that should do it let’s test it out. OK seems like its good to go. Let me know if you have any more issues’. If they don’t show interest then it’s no problem.

I get where you’re coming from but that’s why I find it especially egregious when they activily choose to pursue willful ignorance and vote against their best interests.

What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

Except the internet can be killed fairly easily if governments really wanted too. All the internet is, is a collection of servers storing data and allowing people to access it. Just shut down all power and order big corps to do the same with back up power.

In a situation where the world is getting controlled by AI and we are gonna be wiped out I don’t see why governments and corps would decline to work together and just shut it down for a day.

Tbf the mobile userbase is the biggest gaming userbase in the world. I know a couple people in my life who only play games on their phones and have zero interest in conventional gaming.

Dude fucking same. I uploaded a 5 minute clip of my buds and I at a league of legends tournament we were participating at and it got striked because someone was playing a shitty song in the background for 30 seconds while we talked over it. Some minor who’s who artist. It was low quality audio too, they must have an amazing system to be able to pick it out from all the rest of the noise.

Is it true that movies were super cheap to watch back then? I’ve heard that that’s partially the reason people would go watch the same movie multiple times, that and AC/socially.

I didn’t know that was a thing. I just upgraded to a new pc but before my old hhd was nearly 14 years old. I’m still using it as a back up but wasn’t aware they could fail so quickly. I should get a new one for backups.

Pretty much yea, the hardest part was the train but tbh that’s because I’d never been on a train so I wasn’t sure how the map worked. Took me like 15 minutes and a couple missed trains to figure it out. Google maps is actually amazing for this, assuming you’re staying in the greater Tokyo area.

Ye, I did go out a little bit of the Tokyo tourist area and it was a bit confusing with restaurants but not bad either. Tech really helps with all of that nowadays. DeepL did some heavy lifting there.

I’m just talking here but wouldn’t you take in and take out everything when you go camping? What do you do with these towels now that they’re big after being used? If you carry them back then wouldn’t it just defeat the purpose of having a pill towel when you could just carry a regular small one?
