It’s called Compositor Hand-offs, it’s coming in the future and is Wayland only.
It’s likely going to be in Plasma 6 release.
Restoring application state isn’t the only thing it does either. It also allow for graceful crash recovery, true-full-poweroff hibernation and hot-swapping supported compositors.

Pipewire is a modern audio server that can drop-in replace the mess that is alsa, pulse audio, jack, etc.

Wayland is a communication protocol made to be a replacement for the X11 protocols, with it’s compositer implementations being the replacement for Xorg.

XFCE is working on Wayland support ◉⌣◉

They’ve made great strides towards Wayland support, considering that the vast majority of the work is being done by 1 guy.
It’s not just a lack of devs that’s contributing to slow development time either, it’s also the fact their goal is to port every single component to native Wayland without relying on Xwayland at all; which is obviously going to take way longer than just porting the essentials and saying “fuck it, use Xwayland”.

I wouldn’t recommend Nobara, maybe in a few cases but otherwise it’s not the best to enter into Linux with.

Java aplications and old applications must use a backwards compatibility layer that can cause flicker and bad font rendering.

There have been efforts to provide better support for Java applications on the Wayland. For instance, the OpenJDK project has been making progress on implementing native “pure” Wayland toolkit integration not dependent upon XOrg/X11 or XWayland.

but not all toolkits support it natively and few are easy.

There have been significant developments in providing native support for Wayland in various toolkits. For example : Clutter, GLFW 3, SDL, GTK 3.20+, QT5+, EFL, Slint, Iced & OpenJDK. Just to name a few.
While it is true that not all toolkits have full native support, ongoing work is/has largely shifted towards much better Wayland support.

Trees can’t survive if they can only get water from a 6’‘x6’’ cookie cutter hole in concrete.

Xenia wouldn't suggest that :c (lemmy.world)

please don’t harrass or insult that website, but I recently browsed that website because I wanted to get a wallpaper, but then I realized the top bar was saying “Xenia suggests you get Firefox”, wait what?? She wouldn’t suggest that first of all, second, this means that the website knows if you are using Google or...

SUN / COMET, HEXWORLD & HARMONY.
Anything that’s not just following the exact same design language like FLOW, STAIRWAY & WAVES clearly are doing.

The worst part is that person is using the Wayland bait to push anti-trans propaganda.
