This 702 provision only allows spying on your communications with foreigners, and it’s being used much less now than in the past.

How you feel about that is up to you, but it shouldn’t be construed as a broad ability to spy on Americans without restriction.

I’m not an expert, but I believe the phone will usually start by geolocating your IP address, getting satellite positions based on your rough position and the exact time, and only uses satellites for precision.

Your phone will take much, much longer to pinpoint your location if your phone has been in airplane mode.

Article about a recent revelation by the Youtube Channel Modern Vintage Gaming: The game “Alien Resurrection” by Argonaut contains a code which allows to run burned CD copies of Playstation 1 games.

The PS disc copy protection is only checked when the system is booted. You can load one legit disc and swap it live for a burned disc, but it’s difficult because the disc is spinning the whole time.

This cheat code on a legit disc just stops the disc from spinning for a short time, allowing you to much more easily swap to the copy.

Maybe, just maybe the actor is more invested in their particular character than the writer. Or maybe the line suits the actor better.

It’s disrespectful for the writers to expect actors to play their characters without putting anything of themselves into the act.

It should absolutely be a collaboration, and not one side dictating to the other, with no feedback allowed.

But I’m not going to downvote a contribution to the conversation just because I disagree.

You’re kidding, right? The series would have been better if it weren’t called Foundation. They’ve mutilated the source material far worse than anything JJ Abrams has ever done.

If you start watching that show because of the name and history, then it’s a terrible show.

If you took Jersey Shore and renamed it “Lord of the Rings: Shoreline” while having the characters spout the word “Hobbit” here and there, people would be rightfully disappointed.

This honestly isn’t far off of that. The show is a disgrace to the books and shouldn’t share the name. Maybe if I can go back and forget the association, I could appreciate it for what it is. But it’s not what it was sold as.

Honestly it makes me want to abandon social media altogether. I don’t really trust random people to moderate discussion without favoring their own agenda. It’s even worse when it’s not random people who have sought out the position to push propaganda, but I think Lemmy is mostly too small for that still.

Bill did not legally lie. Given a mountain of context, he was telling the truth. But the prosecutors were playing for TV clips, not for the case.

It always amazed me that the anti-abortion people and the vegetarian people had basically no overlap. Supposedly “pro-life” with no exceptions… unless it’s this pig I want to eat. But that fetus with encephalopathy? That baby deserves every second of his tortuous, miserable life. All 38 hours of it.
