I feel like the parts separating had a lot to do with saving the phone as a whole. It must be absorbing and dissipating some of that energy from the fall rather than all that energy being directed into the phone when it stays together.
I remember my old phones would fly apart from a fall but they’d never suffer any meaningful damage.
Funny. In my day Wikipedia just came out and they used to give the same advice. In comparison, I would wager any random wiki article has a better chance of being more reliable and a better answer to your question than a Google summary.

I’ve exhausted things I can sleep to on Netflix, and it’s literally impossible to sleep to things on Prime (so I barely watch anything there; it’s not worth falling asleep to something I like, since I might be punished for it), so I’ve started putting on YouTube in the evenings since it won’t wake me with silence at...
Here are some I enjoy. All have a good voice, not overly expressively and no sudden change in background tracks. No sudden screaming/explosions/anything that will wake you.
John Michael Godier Science/Speculative Scifi, Low Soothing voice, even has a sleep playlist.
Issac Arthur Sci-Fi, Calm voice, Good background track, Long Videos
Forgotten Weapons Firearms, Historical and Mechanical overviews and indepth discussions. I recommend you skip the shooting range stuff if you’re trying to sleep.
I remember reading somewhere (probably my high school textbook) that one of the reasons people don’t like wind power being built is they cause visual pollution....
Even if we agree that it causes visual pollution, I’d argue that visual pollution from fossil fuels is many multitudes worse. Case in point, major chinese and indian cities.
The problem occurs because there are 2 conditions that need to be fulfilled.
Its programmed to spin at set RPM for 6 mins.
Before it can initiate a full speed spin it needs to ensure the drum is balanced. If its off balanced it will damage the spin motor and other parts of the machine in short order. (reference old machines that sound like an earthquake during spin cycles). It will keep attempting to adjust the clothes by start-stopping so clothes can fall in place. Only when the vibrations are down to acceptable levels will the machine initiate a full speed spin dry. Machine will stay stuck at set spin time until condition 2 is fulfilled.
The way to fix this is to open up the machine, untangle balled up clothes and allow the spin dry to resume.
Yes the dry powder type which is most common, can go “bad” usually from excessive moisture in the pressurization gas. This causes the powder to clump and no longer come out.
This can be prevented by inverting the extinguisher a few times a year to make sure the powder is still “fluid” and to break up any clumped up powder.
I treat my tools well and even baby the fancy ones a bit. But god damn, they’re fking tools, they’re meant to be used and eventually everything breaks.
I was having a conversation with my friend about this. We were discussing AI and she believes AI will destroy all of humanity just like so many others. I personally don’t believe that. It grabs attention. Tell everyone the world is getting better daily, the long term trend of violent crime and war is actually trending downwards. We are making progress towards elimination of diseases, hunger and poverty. No one bats an eyelid. Say the world is verging toward WW3 and imminent destruction is here and everyone pays attention to you.
Its easy to be in a fatalistic mindset. Its easy to say its all going to shit, What’s the point? It’s difficult to be positive. Its difficult to take action. No matter how small. Its difficult to see the ultimate impact of small positive acts. But every small act can and does make a difference. At least to the person it benefits. Its even more difficult to face the fact that all the positive can be easily undone by one guy pressing a button. Its difficult to keep trying despite that fact.
Its also because big ass herbivores are actually really dangerous.
Sharks don’t actually like the taste of humans because we’re a little too lean. So they won’t actively hunt you unless they’re starving. There’s only really one reason why a shark is out to get you. There’s many reasons a herbivore will mess you up.
A big herbivore will fk you up because he’s having a bad day and you got too close. Or its mating season and everyone is potential competition. Or they mistook you for a predator cause of their poor eyesight. Or a bird flew away nearby and one of them got startled and now you’re in a path of a stampede.
You can choose normal, fancy, or wildcard. (startrek.website)
