Pretty much the title. I’ve been watching more realistic super hero shows like The Boys and Invincible. The reoccurring themes is that with great power comes great immorality....
It’s weird how a person will believe they have all license to choose to be terrible version of themselves and think everyone else is just holding back. Rapists think this of all humanity. That underneath it all everyone would just be raping each other if they could get away with it. It never occurs to them these thoughts might not even occur to a person or that if it does it doesn’t really appeal. Or that people have other things they find fulfilling that just doesn’t involve hurting other people and just aren’t fixated on shit like this.
Watching him Vs trans people is like watching MRA Vs feminism. Or conservative Vs PC. Scarecrowing privilege and playing victim over some mere inconveniences and uncomfortable truths.
Fermentation is still resulting in live organisms. Which essentially is what makes up a lot of food we eat. It doesn’t come out of a machine as only one atomic building block. And it is absolutely necessary in our nutrition to have this biodiversity even on a micro level to keep our body functioning.
Though it doesn’t mean you go lick the black mold in your shower. Just get some basic education of nutrition to the point you’re not so absolutely this negligently dumb about food as the OP.
I’m not forcing you to eat it but preference alone isn’t enough reason to be spreading misinformation and just being stupid. Just say you don’t like it. Stay away from educating anyone on it being anything more than your preference though.
I’m all for a diverse palet but it’s not necessary to shame someone who knows and can understand their preferences for not liking something just like they shouldn’t shame you for liking blue cheese.
Shaming and spreading misinformation is bad faith arguing in either side.
Listening actively comes in more than one description. Cmon it cannot be painful to be there for someone else. Stop being obtuse on purpose. That’s just acting in bad faith.
Yup I remember going through a phase where it was like “I don’t have time for this person’s jabber” and it would annoy me that they wouldn’t get to the point.
Meanwhile I could find all the time in the day to do meaningless things to take up my time like playing a game. Which is totally self serving.
Then I realized this was a me problem. Not a them problem.
I really hate who I was back then. Now some of my relatives do jabber on but it’s totally ok. I make space for that now cuz jabbering is part of relationships and that’s how some people communicate and listening is a part of healthy interaction.
and despite all that you still failed argue a common idea is a good idea at best you just moved goal posts to do ‘common bad ideas are common’
Bad ideas are still bad and shouldn’t be celebrated nor needing defence. I can guarantee you people who left children in the back of a car wouldn’t be so absolutely idiotic to not call themselves incompetent when they realized they did it. Hence why your precious dunning Kruger effect is baseless.
Well so long as we’re throwing the argumentum ad populum fallacies around It was also well documented that people owned people as slaves too but you don’t see slave owners being given the award for common sense nor trusted with anything more than a diced apple. It’s just more assurance your judgment is flawed beyond reason. Thanks for the confirmation my first post is right to take your license. Get you off the road ASAP.
You’re saying slow like it’s a bad judgment. It is not a bad judgment particularly in black ice conditions.or any condition involving another human life.
Not when they are terminally ill, elderly and on a pension. Other people are allowed to have illnesses and conditions and one person with an illness is not an excuse to take advantage of the vulnerable.
At best it’s an explanation. It Doesn’t give them a pass with that behavior.
After doing back breaking and expensive work cleaning a close relative’s house up after a hoarder rented with this exact attitude, you can fuck right off with it, mr koala.
Be honest: if you had the power to stop time, your morals would go out the window. (lemmy.zip)
