Just gotta rework the lyrics of the song to make it Trek now…

Well, no, it must be left in because if you stick with your part of “every crazy request” then it completely ignores the entire spirit and purpose of the Prime Directive. Starfleet isn’t the be all and end all of morality. Their decisions affect them and the people within it but they’re not “Team America: Space Police.” They don’t go around judging which laws are good and which aren’t. ESPECIALLY when that perspective comes from them and them alone. Different cultures have different beliefs. Ignoring them and imposing your own on everyone is imperalistic as hell and directly against what Starfleet stands for.

Adding a clause to children works for me because the only purpose is to protect the children. The Prime Directive is still able to stand and work between cultures but this way Starfleet is able to say “Our cultures matter too and our culture says children whos brains aren’t done developing shouldn’t be executed for a mistake.” Sure it’s still fucked up that they’d do it to adults but they’re adults. They made their decision and their decision led to them doing stupid shit on an alien planet, fucking around and finding out.

Hey. Sorry. Dealin with stress myself so this comment sucks but I love your work and am really glad to see you on Lemmy.

I left because the moderation and administration are inconsistent. The rules were left too vague and one of the admins keeps removing random stuff according to different rules or new definitions of the rules. They are left so insanely vague so they can basically do what they want. Kinda icky to me. If I’m doing something wrong I wanna stop it. I was abused as a kid by a mother who loved to make up new stuff and new rules and judge me by them. Blame me for not following them when they only existed in her head.

Said admin acts the same way and I have absolutely no interest in engaging with that. I barely escaped hell before. I’m not going back.

I’m doing a speedy but Culber keeps telling me to shut up because he’s doing the crossword.

Also I dunno if that’s a WinAmp reference on purpose or not but I will take it.

Bro I post relentlessly because I am suicidally depressed and being able to help make other people happy makes me feel less shitty. I think it’s kind of an insane take to say “If someone posts a lot then they’re content/link farmers” as if there aren’t a thousand different reasons why someone would post.

That’s just making some wild assumptions while being toxic as hell towards those you don’t know.

Stamets,

Right? “I don’t like people who post a lot.” Dude. It’s a fledgling site. Reddit openly admitted to fleecing traffic when it was starting out but this dudes angry that users are engaged with Lemmy and wanna help it grow and provide content?

Guessing the dude has me blocked already and there’s not going to be anything of positive value lost from my comment sections.

Bethesda doesn’t fix their bugs at all and makes them worse. Larian is actively working with the community and releasing major patches to fix major bugs.

Your complaint has no validity.

Pike is my free pass. Culber is indeed my love <3

Bravo. Well fucking done. This is going into my ‘favorite memes’ folder for fucking sure.

This isn’t gatekeeping. It is actively making fun of gatekeepers.

I have no idea how that managed to sail over so many peoples heads… The joke literally ends with Quark and Odos name misspelled.

I saw someone on Lemmy here recently say that the reason Enterprise has Faith of the Heart as a theme song is just a set up so the suddenly change to that mirror intro theme hits harder. As much as I love Faith of the Heart… yeah. I can see it.

That opening always gives me chills. Seeing ‘Starfleet’ vessels on a warpath, attacking iindiscriminately and doing bombing runs on cities… Fuck.

Nah, it’s always referred to as the answer because it’s an answer to the question the host asks. While it is phrased in a question, it’s more an inquisitive response than a true question itself. Thus answer.

Where’s the Timmies? Where’s the curling stone? Where’s the hockey stick? The moose?

POSER!

Stamets,
@Stamets@startrek.website avatar

Where’s the Canadian Tire money? The maple syrup? The poutine? The Terry Fox? The Universal Healthcare?

Stamets,

Yep! That’s what I meant with SNW keeping the detail in. It’s not quite as obvious as the DSC gold on navy but it’s a really really cool touch and update to the classic design.

Well I just posted it and it has Lemmings in it. If you want any alterations, the PSD, the source images, font, etc just shoot me a message

Format

Dinos and Comics does not have an exclusive or unique claim to being a webcomic.

Theme

As stated above, it does not share a theme. Dinos and Comics focuses on friendship and puns. ADHDinos focuses on ADHD and living with it. In fact it exclusively revolves around ADHD itself and uses that as the entire core concept of the comic, using each comic itself to specifically talk about one issue of having ADHD.

Art style

There’s a similarity but, again, Dinos and Comics does not have an exclusive or unique claim on that art style. That same art style has existed for many years and will continue to exist. Moreover, ADHDinos puts genuinely more work into the art. There’s more shading, the characters actually move, and the panels frequently are different instead of just a zoomed in version of what came before it.

Colors

No. Dinos and Comics uses pastel colors of a large variety. ADHDinos uses darker colors and the same ones repeatedly.

So let me rephrase something from earlier.

The format and theme of being a comic that has vaguely similar dinosaurs in it? That is literally the only thing that they have in common. They cover different topics and have their own visual distinctions. It is not a ‘rip off’ simply because they look kind of similar, especially when the entire core concept of the comics are different themselves.

I’m not continuing this conversation.
