Bro I post relentlessly because I am suicidally depressed and being able to help make other people happy makes me feel less shitty. I think it’s kind of an insane take to say “If someone posts a lot then they’re content/link farmers” as if there aren’t a thousand different reasons why someone would post.

That’s just making some wild assumptions while being toxic as hell towards those you don’t know.

Right? “I don’t like people who post a lot.” Dude. It’s a fledgling site. Reddit openly admitted to fleecing traffic when it was starting out but this dudes angry that users are engaged with Lemmy and wanna help it grow and provide content?

Guessing the dude has me blocked already and there’s not going to be anything of positive value lost from my comment sections.

That savoury makes the difference. It isn’t a flavor profile though. It’s a dried herb. Summer Savoury. In Newfoundland it’s just called savoury all the time. No, I don’t know why. Confused the hell out of me too when I was younger.

It doesn’t grow solely in Newfoundland so you might be able to get it elsewhere. It’s just an herb. The issue comes with getting it at specific times of year.

There’s nothing to be sorry for as the only thing of mine that you’re negating is the ‘omnipresent’ thing and that’s only because I misread it as omniscient. Even then you’re not negating it fully as Season 4 specifically shows that the mycelial network doesn’t exist outside of the galactic boundaries. It only exists where life exists.

The root system isn’t omnipresent though. It only exists where life exists. The root system doesn’t permeate in regions of dead space or intergalactic space. If there’s nothing for life to grow on then the network doesn’t exist there.

Proteins that could not be adequately replicated by a computer while also being accepted by the network. Again. Literally in the first few episodes.

A computer simply couldn’t properly interface with the network.

The network doesn’t seem to feed off of anything but is instead symbiotic in a way, the way that mushrooms are on earth. They’re just a part of the life/death/rebirth cycle.

They’ve never conclusively stated that the network only works in milky way though. Intergalactic space was a no go but they’ve never tried jumping to another galaxy yet. Be crazy if they did in season 5…

Intra-ship beaming

I don’t see that as breaking of canon but a demonstration of situations. They talk about how intra-ship beaming is dangerous but they don’t say it isn’t possible, just that it is used sparingly and in specific circumstances. Meanwhile Lorca is someone who doesn’t give the remotest of fucks about Starfleet and is using it to get home. He’s also trying to be secretive and is generally pretty impatient.
