Working in food/retail has completely destroyed all holiday spirit for me entirely.

It doesn’t matter the holiday. Holidays just mean my job gets harder with no extra compensation. The customers are more hostile and aggressive and it’s just an overall shitty time.

And it happens multiple times a year

Y’know I’ve always wondered how I’d react if something like this happened. Like if some random supernatural thing happened and I saw it.

I’d always liked to believe I’d be more curious and interested than afraid.

Then one day I was watching a chipmunk scurry across a road and it stopped and looked at me. As soon as it turned towards me I heard a voice say “What are you looking at?” And almost shit myself.

Turned out there was a guy who walked up next to me and was asking what I was looking at. Meanwhile I’m having a heart attack thinking a chipmunk is talking to me.

It took me until I saw that guy on tiktok who does a Nigel impression to learn that Tim Curry was the voice

Edit: So I misunderstood this comment and came to the wrong conclusion. I thought they were talking about Nigel Thornberry from Eliza and the Thornberry’s

Being content despite all of it.

We shouldn’t be striving to be “content” we should be livid, pissed, terrified, motivated.

Being content while the world is falling apart is madness and the more people that are “content” means more people unwilling to actually make the changes necessary to fix the problems we have.

Apathy is death.

Idk clearly I’m not picking up what you’re putting down and I apologize for seeming so hostile. I’m just at the point of wanting to commit acts of terror because the people in charge are making protest illegal.

I just don’t see how that’s any different from “it is what it is” in the first place.

How tf is that show still running? I remember watching it when it first came out and it was great until like season 3 when characters started making decisions solely so the show could have drama.

My biggest gruff with Disney is them declaring the extended universe non canon just to cherry pick details from it while ignoring the most exciting lore and shit.

Like the whole palpatine returning thing happened in the EU but was done in a much better way. Different materials like beskar were more fleshed out.

Disney literally had thousands of stories to draw inspiration from and chose to just come up with bullshit over and over again.

Me and my dad actually had to do this with a high voltage plug for an air compressor.

We had a welder that had the same plug as our air compressor but we needed it to be longer. So we spliced two male ends together to make an extension.

It was only extremely dangerous for about 5 minutes but that was some of the sweatiest 5 minutes of my life.

I’d argue it’s also a deliberate attempt to destroy attention span like most things targeted towards kids nowadays.

You can’t notice the problems in the world and fix them if you’re constantly searching for that next dopamine hit.

I was generalizing I know there are some good cartoons out there. Gumball comes to mind. But generally the quality and witty ness have dropped

Yeah it’s not the cartoonist. It’s the media corporation they operate through.

It’s not a secret that media outlets heavily influence what is aired on their channels. Hell they determine what they air in the first place. That and the FCC is a govt agency that determines what is or is not appropriate for public television. And with half our govt trying to strip education it’s not that far of a stretch.

The actual cartoonist is usually on the lower end of the power dynamic. You make what they tell you to make or you don’t work for them.
