Plasma 6 seems to be fixing a lot of the issues I currently have with Plasma - bugs, inconsistency, general jank. Looking forward to its release so I can give it another go

Gnome has been pretty great on Wayland for a while.

Personally I’ve been using it since 2017, and besides a stint with a 1080 Ti that was constantly causing issues, it’s been pretty good besides screen sharing in some programs. Speaking of…

I just wish Discord would fix their shitty app or people would abandon that shitty app. Unfortunately neither looks likely.

If you never got circumcised, you’d likely be saying “I prefer uncut. Looks a bit weird with a piece missing.”

I’m willing to bet if you surveyed, say, Israel or Saudi Arabia, on what looks better between chopped and natural, they’ll say circumcised. And if you surveyed, say, Australia or Spain, they’ll say uncircumcised looks better.

Yeah, the people against mutilating the genitals of babies are irrational when they talk about how fucked up they think forced genital mutilation is.

It’s definitely not the people who dogmatically defend cutting off parts of baby genitalia despite all the suffering and issues it causes, who are behaving irrationally.

It’s worse because she’s telepathic - she knows the advances are unwanted and makes people uncomfortable, and yet she does it anyway.

On top of that, she’s a very important Federation ambassador. People might feel pressured into keeping her happy.

I have a feeling that if she were of a different sex people would view her relentless unwanted sexual advances quite differently.

But I guess “man trying to avoid sexual advances of horny older woman” was seen as being a hilarious role reversal on 90s TV.

She did have some amazing scenes though. She can certainly act when she gets a serious scene as opposed to a sex pest scene.

They absolutely do not. Their UX is based on actual usability studies, rather than just copying the Win95 UX paradigm.

You should look it up, it’s actually quite interesting.The attention to detail and the thought process of pretty much every UI element is pretty crazy.

Gnome is amazing so long as you’re not trying to use it like Windows. It’s not Windows. It’s not trying to be.

If you want to use Linux with a Windows UX, then use Plasma or Cinnamon.

Personally I find it quite refreshing to have a different choice, and IMO it’s worked out better. Even when I use Plasma, I now get rid of the taskbar/panel, use the activities view, etc. change it to the Gnome workflow, in effect.

It’s childish to call a UX bad just because you personally like things to work like Windows.

Got anything to back that up? I highly doubt the people here that were circlejerking about hating devs and even saying it’s good if they suffer mentally from abuse they receive are devs themselves.

That’s the kind of brain-dead childishness, immaturity, and lack of empathy that I’d expect from 15 year olds trying to act edgy in front of their mates.

Respectfully, I love how powerful KDE is but my god they can’t make things visually consistent to save their lives!

From inconsistent icons, to different KDE apps using wildly different design languages, to padding being inconsistent all throughout the DE and their apps, to fonts and their sizes kinda being all over the place

But at least a custom theme is trivial to install and solves most of it
