Valmond,

Water! You can even carbonate it yourself!

Valmond,

This no shit posting, this correct posting.

Valmond,

Or just ask anybody to lick your fingers.

Valmond, (edited )

A nice swedish summer evening (if it isnt raining).

Edit: cheers my fellow scandinavians and nordics!

Honestly - How much will you sacrifice for a better world?

Confronted with the likelihood that we cannot achieve climate goals, confront socioeconomic inequality, and ultimately build a better world without significant personal sacrifice: How much are you personally capable and willing to lose? I mean this in the most earnest way possible. Acknowledging the likely possibility of working...

Yeah the old lie that we are all in it together and should try our best was, yeah, a lie, and some just took all our efforts.

There shouldn’t be billionaires, it’s a morally wrong concept. Money is not meant for hoarding.

We could just confiscate everything over 100 millions and they’d probably wouldn’t even notice. An upper limit of 10 millions seems fair, until no one starves on the planet, have access to health care, education.

And no heritages. Get your money as everybody else.

Valmond,

Old European apartments with wooden floors that amplify sound like a fine tuned violin disagree :-)

To OP : talk to your neighbours. We had one old lady who wore her (lady shoes with a little heel) shoes inside and made a racket, she wouldn’t have known if we hadn’t asked. Now the nice lady wears slippers :-)

What inconsequential or surprisingly good thing can I get from Aliexpress?

Im curious as I usually use the site very occasionally to get certain electronic parts or order from PCBway like I just picked up some cheap but infinitely better than stock gps antennas for my LoRa T beams and im about to get a set of also still cheap but much better than stock 915mhz antennas but i kinda wanna throw some other...

Valmond,

Electronics, any kind of computer cables, switches, kvm, router, hub, mouse-wiggler etc.

Soldering station, air filters, belts, phone chargers, usb cables. NEMA stepper motors.

Bike lights. 18650 Batteries. Drones. NFC tags. Light table. Sun glasses.

IR Thermometer, blood oxygen tester.

I even bought socks there, quite ok and dirt cheap!

Reading glasses.

I’d avoid :

Fountain pens (they’re “ok” but not Lamy Safari quality), wrist watches suck badly. Small scissors.

I buy so much on AliExpress 😅

Valmond,

We should rename it to “Trackers”.

Valmond,

Smells like windows, Facebook, Google, …

Good starters but today will just crush you to earn that Q3 +3%

I don’t even have anything like Plex, but because of you I’ll check out lemmyfin, I mean jellyfin.

Valmond,

How to even start, everything isn’t about the USA.

What do you want to convey here? I mean why not take a smart, intelligent stake on some logic you think seems to be right instead of mixing some random meme stuff together?

Feels like Kremlin bait posting so please prove me you have an opinion more than A bad, B good or something.

Valmond,

Any more info for a geek without too much time?

Valmond,

Yeah FOSS or FLOSS (your teeth ^^) is the only viable solution we have found that really works. It’s like Democracy IMO, criticize them all you want but that’s the only ones that works over time.

Valmond,

BTW: the mortality is around 50% if a car hits a pedestrian at 50km/h.

At 30km/h it’s around 3%.

So yeah, speed in centre ville counts!
