banneryear1868,

Sounds gross but as long as it isn’t with dishes and the dishwasher works right why would it be a problem? Soap is soap.

banneryear1868,

I don’t understand this either, toilets already require running water and have plenty of room to integrate bidet function. It’s not fancy tech or anything… in North America that’s sort of how they’re marketed though, with an emphasis on the settings, like its something you have to learn to use.

banneryear1868,

I wish home and pro version influenced the setting panes. I get what they’re trying to do with making it look like OSX and Linux and why the “network interface and adapters” probably isn’t helpful for many home users, but I just wanna manage my interfaces here.

banneryear1868,

That was one thing I could never do when I was an “urban explorer” (fancy term for trespassing in to municipal water infrastructure), manholes always freaked me out so much my friends couldn’t even peer pressure me.

banneryear1868,

Why are they wearing programming socks when they aren’t programming?

banneryear1868,

Reminds me of how many times outages to corporate software has been caused by some bullshit with the licensing management.

There are well over thousands who have skills beyond Mozart today. The few who become well known are determined by very different things, having skills like Mozart is almost irrelevant. He’s also just sort of the token “music talent” example for people who don’t listen to music, often goes with the idea “classical music” is when music peaked.

The “gifted piano prodigy” I grew up with is a burnout in his 30s. There’s an unassuming data analyst I work with who likely exceeds his skill and just teaches on the side. My local symphony had to cancel this season due to lack of sales. A band at the jazz school my brother attended (BBNG) got sampled by a rapper and were a breakthrough success. This is sorta what it looks like for the Mozarts of today.

Bon Appétit after the issues at their workplace were raised, they all make some decent content outside the BA brand though. Nice to see Sohla doing so much content too since she wasn’t treated the best at BA.

Scotty has the most clickbait titles. “If you have a car you will REGRET this ONE SIMPLE TRICK and DESTROY YOUR ENGINE” (video is about winter octane stabilizers or something completely mundane)

banneryear1868,

Andrew Callaghan sad to say because I was a huge fan and I guess there’s been actual rape allegations come out although he hasn’t been charged with anything so who knows. That style of journalism I just love so much and he is so good at it so it’s a shame.

banneryear1868,

You might like Crime Pays But Botany Doesn’t if you like that style of video. It’s a crass low brow approach to botany and ecology presented by a Chicago Italian. Been going for years now and has improved his quality but it’s still off the cuff rambling.

banneryear1868,

both sides

wtf did u just say to me u lil bishh

banneryear1868,

You know what, I’m just gonna say it. American’s stupid political situation will destroy the world. There I said it. https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/e5f8071a-f0b0-429f-b1a2-30bee1b9caff.png

banneryear1868,

It’s funnier how this didn’t happen but is funny to them to imagine it did

banneryear1868,

Yeah I’m a huge pirate but I also have subscriptions to publications, buy a bunch of games, buy music and even have almost every release from a few labels, go to concerts as much as I can. It’s not about the money for me at all

banneryear1868,

While you were partying, I studied the blade

banneryear1868,

Issues that don’t alter economic arrangements yet are the focus of mainstream politics, or issues amplified and masqueraded as politics for this specific purpose. The idea that people you resent being treated worse than you is a political achievement, is the foundational mechanism of culture war. As the basic economic arrangement is no longer on the table or negotiable politically, politics increasingly becomes focused on individual resentments. The right is fueled by culture war right now more than any other political faction.

Me but green tartan skirt, also I’m a dude.

The $8 Munchkin 10oz Sippy Cup. It’s technically made for toddlers but it excels over any other travel mug unless you want insulation. I don’t care about insulation because I don’t want to wait an hour until it’s a good drinking temp. Instead of some stupid spout mechanism that gets dingy and can’t be washed in the dishwasher, there’s a simple silicone lid you can drink from on all sides, and it’s all dishwasher safe and super easy to clean. It also contains a perforated screen perfect for steeping tea leaves or cardamom tea. Of course there’s the brilliantly simple spillproof aspect as well. I’ve had mine for 4 years and there’s zero wear on it.

Pineapple on pizza is such a forced debate, nobody normal sincerely cares that much, and anyone who does is either pretending or has a toddler-level approach to food. The “authentic Italian” gatekeeping is also incredibly stupid and ironic, given Italy’s history of appropriating other culture’s foods then claiming they are the arbiters of the most “authentic” version of said food.

My fav dolce pizzas to make are cinnamon date puree with pecans and brown sugar sprinkled over top, or a sliced pear/apple with brie and a Balsamic drizzle.
