Worth every penny IMO, MacOS is super nice and so is the hardware.
Putting all my legitimate Apple/MacOS concerns/arguments aside, how can you declare a product as “Worth every penny” when you yourself have not used it for an extensive period of time? Attempted to integrate it into your workflow?
For me, there were several dollar store trinkets that already broke, and one toy for my kids that was a huge sparkly styrofoam mess waiting to happen, so I threw it out rather than curse anyone else with it.
Just curious as I’ve never been on the other side of the counter, how does this sort of thing tend to work at restaurants? Fast food and fast-casual places are where I’ve heard customers say things “pile as much lettuce on there as you’re allowed to” - is there ever a limit your supervisor instructed you for things...
Depends on how things were inventoried, expensive things like meat were down to like the individual patties.
But fries were eyeballed bag/half bag type thing, so if you were nice about it or cute I would take one of our smallest to-go bags and LOAD it with fries lmfao
For me, I don’t take issue with living in the matrix or even being forced to.
It’s that the computers could have made it a utopia where everyone has everything they need or want and just live life or hell even giving interfaces so that people could just build whatever out of thin air
But the computers just… replicated the real world 90’s…and all the suffering and pain and capitalism along with it…
Also, you shouldn’t directly link to that site and give them revenue because it’s another one of those religious nut “media biblical rating” websites. Use something like archive.is to grab an archive once (if they don’t already have it) and post that link
And OMG, Apples business support is absolute horse shit
Device management? Good fucking luck. Setting up iOS device management is by far the most painful, migraine inducing, poorly thought out, full of the most asinine restrictions process I’ve ever seen in my life.
Setting up Oracle on-prem software is a cake walk compared to Apples shit.
Windows is a business OS with consumer features, MacOS is a consumer OS with business (poorly executed) “features”
I’m neither, I refuse to pronounce acronyms if it doesn’t make sense to do so.
Same thing with ‘gooey’ for GUI, except I hate that even more because that straight up elicits feelings of disgust, I don’t want anything gooey anywhere near any electronics
So there is this app claiming on-device iMessage functionality on Android. Seems cool but only has subscription based pricing. Does anyone know of a way to circumvent this?...
Yea I know it’s a PoC, It’s work, but not that much work…if you have the skill set lol
I was actually digging into JJTechs project a bit, I’m planning on building something of my own, but my version is going to try to tap into Androids messaging service instead so that I can use any SMS app I wish.
The idea being my service will be a translation layer of sorts instead of an independent app that I have to switch too.
Just give me all the bacon and eggs olives you have. Wait, wait. I’m worried what you just heard was, “Give me a lot of bacon and eggs olives.” What I said was, “Give me all the bacon and eggs olives you have”. Do you understand?
I seem to see this “powered by Admiral” popup on lots of other websites.
Whatever this Admiral company tech is, it’s the only one that’s been able to detect my Ad blocking in a long time, has anyone been able to defeat it yet?
Do any of you have that one service that just breaks constantly? I'd love to love Nextcloud, but it sure makes that difficult at times (lemmy.world)
What are some small things we should change about the human body?
Ripping off a post I just saw in the Isaac Arthur subreddit. Imagining we work out the technical ability. Examples they suggested were:...

What gifts that you received for Christmas this year are already in the trash?
For me, there were several dollar store trinkets that already broke, and one toy for my kids that was a huge sparkly styrofoam mess waiting to happen, so I threw it out rather than curse anyone else with it.
Completely untrue nowadays... (sh.itjust.works)
They work better in Linux than Windows, not to mention backwards compatibility....
Current and Former (Fast) Food Service Workers - How do you handle requests like “All the fries you can give me”?

This is the link to the image. It has 3.8mb. In my opinion that is way too much.
