davidgro, to memes in 🇬🇧 Oh you simply MUST visit us at Yellowcurryshire next summer.

Sugarshire

Almost sounds legit.

The solution to that was ExFAT, which is another patented MS system, so requires a license fee (I think) but otherwise is compatible with anything (because they all had to pay the fee…) But specifically compatible with Windows out of the box.

They could be low level. I certainly remember when a Ruin Guard was a big scary monster that could kill my whole party.

And later when I was playing pretty seriously I still stayed out of Abyss Floor 12 because it wasn’t worth the effort (literally - I never got enough stars to get a reward from it even when I technically defeated it)

On that note, Her Majesty.

Ding ding ding ding ding ding…

davidgro, to asklemmy in What do you call this place?

Ah - I didn’t know we were the only ones who do. But yes, it’s nice to have that. I understand we also have the largest ferry system in at least the US, although I think that’s not directly related to the rivers.

davidgro, to memes in What was that?

I guess misspelling is contagious. I fixed it.

The text is clearly (badly) put there by the AI, so it must have been in the prompt.

And even more casual than that is their latest game, Honkai: Star Rail. The combat is turn based, so you can just look away and come back later as you wish and don’t need gamer reflexes at all*

I love it.

(* There’s one minor exception - an Ultimate move can be launched after your turn, but before the enemy’s turn or between two enemies’ turns, which does require some speed. It’s not usually important though.)

Meanwhile it disappoints me that their whipped cream isn’t sweet enough…

davidgro, to asklemmy in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?

I think it’s incredible how the internet can connect people who come from different planets like this.

I mean yeah, if food is more bitter than it is sweet then it’s unpleasant to me (even the darkest chocolate has a lot of sugar) but that still doesn’t directly stimulate pain receptors like capsaicin does at any level. Very low levels of “heat” (pain) are indeed tolerable to me, but No level above zero is more enjoyable than zero, for any type of food.

I also don’t understand that concept of “too sweet” (for things that should be sweet, I am not talking about pizza for example). The only thing that stops me from just buying sugar in bulk and eating bowls of it at a time is concern for my health/teeth. (Which of course is a strong concern, and so far has managed to keep me from being diabetic)

I seriously can’t imagine a flavor so good that I would be willing to experience significant (let alone severe) pain in order to taste it. (Nor Have I been able to taste any extra flavors in even mildly spicy food.)

I don’t doubt your experience, but I absolutely can’t relate to it, or for that matter comprehend it.

davidgro, to asklemmy in What's a true fact that is so misleading it's borderline misinformation?

In DC they actually are moving, but it’s something like a few millimeters per hour on average
