I just have a single network printer I need to access from all of our computers. A Sharp mx-4071’if memory serves. I figured it out on Linux Mint in about 10 minutes so I’m pretty happy with that.
I’m replacing a couple of really old PCs at work with slightly less old PCs and I know they don’t meet Windows 11 specs without workarounds. I’m thinking about taking the leap but I need printer support to work. Otherwise something like open office and a web browser will do what I need. What distro should I start with? I don’t have time to find a perfect fit.
I have old history with Linux and am just coming back. I did my first test build for my office to get away from the dying Windows 10/avoiding 11. I went with a basic Linux Mint cinnamon build, got our network printer and core software working. Will you let me live?
I spent the week after Christmas at the top of Michigan’s upper peninsula. I was close enough to get Welcome to Canada messages on my phone but I don’t have a current passport so I couldn’t visit. Which is bullshit by the way, I’ve been there with just my DL many times.
But there was no snow. It rained several days. WTF?!
I just bought a new set. We used to have a vertical stacked set but only the bottom washer was unrepairable. We had to rearrange a lot of stuff in our laundry room to get a side by side set in there but we found one that worked nicely. WAY bigger capacity than our last units and only $50 more than the cheapest set available. And yeah, it’s not smart. No Internet.
I live in a ranch style house on a completely flat property, there are no steps on it. Golden showers don’t come raining from above when there’s no above.
