I was thinking “pass that Dutch” by Missy Elliot on the first song

Worked on some music (synthesizer programming) got dinner with bae, enjoyed some recreational drugs in lieu of alcohol (dry January, lol) and cuddling with the cat!

I recall reading about Alpha-Lipoic Acid as a supplemental treatment for post viral loss of smell. I took some when I lost my smell after a bout of covid and mine did come back, YMMV!

I got COVID 2-3 times IIRC and lost my sense of smell one time. It came back after a few weeks

SAD light location and use for programmers?

It’s been a grey winter, and looking to stay that way. I work remote, so I was thinking of getting an SAD light. But I remember from years ago when I had one (and worked in an office) that if I put it next to my monitor it gave me a headache and made my monitor hard to see. Those of you using SAD lights, where do you put them,...

From what I’ve read, simply increasing the brightness of your living spaces can help. I’ve got some LED “corn bulbs” in a lamp next to my desk and in the living room. I like the Dragon Light brand.

Partner made a jalapeño infusion we call jalapeño-cello (as in limoncello)

Seven Caves Tiki Gin is pretty unusual. Fruity.

And some odd amari I suppose!

Sure, CharityNavigator is good for research.

In lieu of sending gifts, sometimes I donate to charities that remind me of the recipient. For instance, for the bird lover, I donated in their name to Audubon. Etc.

What kinda drugs tho??

I use a strategy for some gifts which I call “luxury consumables”. Get someone something that they will use up (food, cheese, chocolate, olive oil, soap, booze, tea, etc) but that’s a bit nicer than they would get for themselves. If you can afford that!

For instance, flavored oil and vinegar for the chef. Fancy chocolate for… everyone. And in this case, smoked cheese! Sounds tasty AF.

Pocket knives are a nice gift all around!

Nice socks are a banger gift. I’ve gifted Smartwool socks, and also some hand knit thick cozy ones. Always a hit.

Jay, obviously, is a person who isn’t from the city — hence the term, Jaywalking! JK, but that is a real thing. It’s probably not the real answer here.
