Most come from the pagan yule festival actually. One of my favorite meals/snacks: sourdough baguette cut into small rounds with a sauce (mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, a lot of basil, garlic, red pepper flakes, onion powder, and some oregano), tomato, zucchini, mozzarella cheese baked until cheese is browned. So delicious, especially if you use fresh basil and garlic and let the sauce sit in the fridge for a few hours beforehand
What are you even going on about? Proprietary Nvidia graphics drivers updates are released at basically the same time as the windows version, and amd has always worked flawlessly. I have 2 2k 144hz monitors with HDR and both work and look just as good on Linux as on Windows.
The only issues with high dpi monitors is that some apps don’t both detecting the monitor dpi and need to be adjusted manually… but there are very few that that is still an issue for, and windows has the same problem because it’s an app problem not an OS problem

I picked Plex mainly because the lifetime sub wasn’t bad, and the features and polished interface were worth it. If Plex adds too many garbage/bloat features or removes useful features then I’ll jump ship to jellyfin immediately. Same boat for paying for bitwarden vs self hosting vaultwarden

I would like to try another client which has this feature in case I forget to launch my VPN client before opening Transmission. Does anybody have any recommendations? Deluge? QBittorrent? Like the other comments, I use qbittorrent. I recommend running your VPN with gluetun and routing the traffic from your qbittorrent container through it. If the gluetun container is down, no traffic at all. If it’s up, everything goes through the vpn
I both want and don’t want the stormlight archives books adapted to movies. On one hand, the books are amazing. On the other hand movie/tv adaptations usually go badly and it would require a lot of special effects that I think would come out badly
It wasn’t a bad movie, I actually liked it a lot - but the book is significantly better and the movie left out a lot. If I had read the book before watching the movie I would probably have hated the movie tbh.
Also even picking that book to make into a movie was a mistake, enders game was only written to give backstory for speaker for the dead which is much better than the enders game book but never made it to becoming a movie itself
My wedding was my wife and I going to the courthouse on pi day, promising we weren’t related, signing the marriage document, then having a pizza pie for dinner and apple pie for dessert, total cost ~$85 (including $30 marriage license).
A couple months later we went to Hawaii for a week and a half with both of our parents and my wifes best friend. Landed and spent a day puttering around since we were all tired, next day we had a ceremony on a gorgeous little beach (millionaires housing community beach, still public access like all beaches but hard to find and not much parking by design) officiated by my dad, had pictures taken by a photographer who also got the permit flowers etc, and spent the remaining 8 days honeymooning/vacationing. Our parents paid for the condo we stayed at as their wedding present ($1500 of $4500 would’ve been our share) and paid for most of the food while we were there. Total cost was $900 for a photographer (worth they were great and definitely worth it), $500 for plane tickets since we got them early and went in early May when the islands aren’t too busy, figure $300 in food and activities that we did without our parents . Wife’s dress was $600 including alterations.
Total cost ended up being under $2500 paid over 6 months or so. We got married, had pictures, and a week and a half vacation and honeymoon in Hawaii for less than most people pay for a random venue for 8 hours in the off season.

Any evaluation of i to the power k boils down to i^(k%4). For example, i^726 = i^2 = -1. I know this was super useful in calc 1 or 2 and not used for any of my other math classes, it’s just a fun concept to me

Usenet is usually a lot faster, for most things you can basically max out your bandwidth (or whatever the max you set your download client to) instead of it being determined by the number and quality of seeders. Newer releases torrents also download very fast, but after a few months or years the seeders drop off a lot, usenet is always the same speed even if it’s super old and most keep stuff indefinitely or for 10-20 years or so (longer if it’s being grabbed a lot still)
Also one nzb site is usually enough, you don’t need to check a bunch of different torrent sites since it’s basically one massive one. I use prowlarr so I have it check nzbgeek for everything first and a bunch of torrent sites as backups in case it isn’t there, but almost everything gets grabbed from usenet

Throw Linux on it or reinstall windows if you don’t want to learn Linux. I assume it’s a new PC, but you never know what may be on there regardless. A new install with a complete overwrite is the way to go imo.
For Linux, it personally use arch (btw) and love it but it’s not super beginner friendly. I’ve heard good things about Linux mint for beginners so that may be a good place to start
