I’d straight up tell a boss that asked for unpaid overtime that their failure to allocate resources is money out of my pocket if and only if you want to hear from the DoL.
He never had a phase where all of his videos were 10:00 for the algorithm, he never jumps on topical shit for clicks, he just talks about genuinely interesting shit, and has gotten to do so on a higher and higher budget.
He has diversified, and has other channels that interface with other YouTubers in gameshow and stuff. But it’s all still legit content.
And a deep cut from 9 years ago. Same kind of content. Slightly lower quality but… Guys been doing this kind of “hey I think this is neat let me tell you about it” for a decade, without becoming a dingbat.
On a more on topic note: Lemmy is small. We dont have the population to warrant that specific of a community, yet. I’d recommend starting by joining a community about vinyl, making posts about vinyl care, and seeing how they do. When you’re taking up a significant percentage of a larger parent topics feed, I’d say it’s time to splinter off
I’d just add that we run the risk of being extremely unappealing if we have too many communities with near 0 activity. We’re better served at the beginning having fewer, more general communities, to attract critical masses
For something like trying to turn 300k into 25T on Bitcoin, yes, absolutely.
You could 100% become a trillionaire without significantly affecting market positions, though, even with just general knowledge and ~50 $100-$10,000 investments.
