These features require the cloud

No they don’t. You can use WiFi. Or Bluetooth. Or 433Mhz radio.

There are some gaming focused OS’s such as Nobara (Fedora) and also that are “couch gaming” OSs that incorporate controller-only UIs such as ChimeraOS (Arch) and Bazzite (Fedora).

helenslunch, to selfhosted in So SBCs are shit now? Anything I can do with my collection of Pis and old routers?

How bad is it? My current file server, an old gaming rig, consumes 100w at idle.

That’s very bad haha. Most home servers for personal use are using 7-10w.

Although you’ll have to do the math with your local energy prices to determine how important that is. It’s probably not.

Not a good idea to use your own domain. Use Proton Pass with domains you share with all the other users.

Not helpful, thanks.

Not really going to justify my usage but suffice it to say my business is largely dependent on networking with the people who are active on social media.

Twitter and Reddit I am “read only” via Stealth and Squawker.

I recently discovered AntennaPod can be used as a PeerTube client as well.

Although I don’t like them them mixed in with my podcasts so I cloned the app and just have one that I use separately.
