Probably will just be more like their own flavor of Android where they lock down the OS and insert all kinds of malware.

Feeling personally attacked I see.

Uhhhh nope, you just made that up.

Well since you are completely oblivious, it’s rude and annoying, no one wants to hear your conversation.

Pretty sure the person on the phone with me wants to hear the conversation…

If you’re referring to being in a crowd of people, I understand, but that’s not what’s happening in the photo.

I usually put all the afterburner tech specs up and mess with the settings for the first 10 minutes or so while I get it running at its best. Then I turn them off.

Sure enough, that fixed it, thanks.

What’s the deal with devs not keeping up with FDroid repos?

You simply follow the Lemmy community (displayed as “groups”) on Mastodon.

and lemming comments on peertube

Just follow the PeerTube channels (displayed as “communities”) on Lemmy. As seen in the OP.

He has a podcast as well, if you’re into that. He actually just interviewed the CEO of Proton Privacy.

There’s an app on FDroid called shelter that creates a sandboxed “work” profile.

They are “listening”, they’re just not communicating with their home servers. The wake-up words are processed locally. I mean they have to be.

“Mute” is really a terrible way to describe this switch and breeds distrust. It should just be a WiFi switch or something.

@helenslunch@feddit.nl avatar

They’re probably still listening in though.

Maybe? But also I’ve never seen any evidence of them listening with the mic off or without you saying the “wake word”.

helenslunch, to linux in How many of you run a Linux phone (Pine64, Librem etc) as your daily driver?
@helenslunch@feddit.nl avatar

The only phones that cost that much are either several years old (in which case you can include used Pixels) or are riddled with bloatware and spyware and the absolute cheapest of materials that won’t last long enough to make buying it even make any financial sense.

Pixels are just way too expensive

LOL what? The A series are some of the cheapest modern phones you can buy, and an incredible value…
