hperrin, to privacy in AdGuard Temp Mail: new temporary email service launched - gHacks Tech News

It’s similar. I made it to solve my spam problem, but it’s also really good for staying organized. When you sign up for something, you can use yourname-whatever@port87.com, then if you don’t want it anymore, you can block that address. Each address has its own label in your account, and blocking the address is just one click.

hperrin, (edited ) to opensource in How do I make contributors to my project transfer copyright to me?

If you want that, you’ll get fewer contributors, but just make that explicitly clear in your pull request template.

Personally, I would never contribute to a project where the maintainer demanded I transfer copyright ownership of my contributions. I also wouldn’t use a project that did that, and would advise other people to not use that project either.

hperrin, to asklemmy in What are some dark sides to cute super-powers ?

I think we’re a delicacy in that part of the world.

dOWOm, what’s this?

hperrin, to linux in What's your experience with bluetooth audio?

I haven’t had any issue with Bluetooth audio on Fedora.

hperrin, to privacyguides in Switching to more privacy friendly alternatives

Apple Maps is a good alternative if you have an iPhone. Apple may not be a whole lot better, but at least they aren’t an advertising company.

Iron Man?

hperrin, to asklemmy in Gamers who have gamed for a long time

As I’ve gotten older and more busy, it’s been harder to get into games. I can’t play 4 hours a day any more, so the game has to fit into my schedule. Plus a lot of games take like 60 hours now. I liked Stray a lot because it was fun and I beat it in like 3 hours.

So yeah, I feel pretty much the same.

Yes.

Reminds me of Toolip on SMUI. My wife said I shouldn’t fix it, because she liked it.

hperrin, to selfhosted in Question: Best UI to manage VMs and containers?

Cockpit looks interesting. It’s got a lot of features I normally do with terminal commands, but the VM manager stuff looks like what I’m looking for.

hperrin, (edited ) to piracy in Is there a Universal Playlist which is privacy friendly?

There used to be one called Turntable.fm, but it shut down a while ago. Not a playlist, but like a live DJ thing. Maybe there’s something like that around.

hperrin, (edited ) to opensource in Don't be that guy.

It didn’t break his computer. In trying to fix it, he deleted his node_modules directory, and now he’s complaining that he has to run npm install and wait for it to finish.

So to be clear, it was his own action that caused him to have to reinstall everything.

hperrin, (edited ) to asklemmy in How Many Streaming Services Do You Have?

I’ve gotten it down to just Hulu, Nebula, and Dropout. Everything else from everywhere else I pirate. I’m getting rid of Hulu next.

I also technically have Prime Video, but that’s because they force me to have it, even though I just want Prime shipping.
