If a zombie apocalypse ever happens

I won’t be worrying about the zombies … I’ll be in more danger from other healthy people who will all be going bat shit insane and want to kill me, the neighbor and everyone else around for food and supplies because they all want to live five minutes longer than me.

In the end the survivors will probably kill more survivors than the zombies will.

That tech will regress due to the greed of tech corporations.

Tech is regulated by the big corporations that consistently either throttle innovation or degrade what already is established because they all want to figure out how to squeeze as much profit out of everything possible while blocking or preventing anything new that might compete with them.

Any new innovation that will occur will be military and will either have a machine gun attached to it or can deliver a high explosive.

Don’t laugh … it’s a really bad day when your car/truck decides to run …but the cab heater has stopped working … on a really cold day at minus 10 to 20 degrees Celsius (+14F to -4F in American) … your windshield basically becomes a frosty block of ice that will clear up for a minute after you scrape it before it forms a new layer of frost again.

I drove around for a week continually scraping the windshield to drive around town one winter a few years because of this. And if you are unlucky, police will stop you, ticket you and tell you to tow your vehicle home.

Sore throat? … I’m 45 and I have the start of arthritic disease … last week I woke up with a pain in my shoulders, by the end of the day, I couldn’t lift my arms and the pain was unbearable - it felt like my arm wanted to separate from my body (and I actually wanted it to just to end the pain!) … at one point in your life as you get old, you wish it were just a sore throat.

As an alcoholic, that doesn’t work … it delays things which may have an effect but it doesn’t stop someone with a strong enough addiction

Historically … Christmas about 150 to 200 years ago was more like Halloween than modern day Christmas

Which is the main reason why Charles Dickens ‘A Christmas Carol’ features ghosts and spirits. It was a time to tell dark stories and legends to scare people because the Winter Solstice was known in pagan times as the ‘darkest time of the year’ … the winter solstice is the longest day night of the year and the belief was that on that day was when the forces of darkness had reached their peak and that the light was now returning.

Early Christians co opted the same period to correspond with the birth of Christ partly because of this same or similar messaging.

If you look up modern historians analysis of what time of year Christ might have been born, it turns out it was probably in the spring time rather than during the winter solstice.

Lol … those benefits aren’t gifts that were freely given.

People had to fight, get beaten, lose money, lose houses, lose property and years ago even get killed to even establish those benefits and normalize them today.

I have old elderly friends who took part in union movements in the 40s and 50s, many of whom complained of getting beaten and threatened and a few recalling friends and relatives murdered for organizing successful strike action.

If we had left it to corporations and wealthy elites to give these benefits freely, they would withhold everything and prefer that slavery were reintroduced than to give up anything.

Those aren’t gifts … those are hard fought rights that people literally died for.

Yeah … everyone keeps talking about how the audience reacts to stuff that is given to them

No one ever asks who is giving / controlling / managing / manipulating the content that is given

This is like a rat experiment and the scientists keep analyzing the rats reactions and never talk about what they are giving the rats. If the rats are going bat shit crazy because they keep pumping them with sugar, amphetamines and cocaine … is it any wonder that the rats in a cage are going nuts?

Communications media and social media is controlled by a very small number of private corporations that have little to no control from governments or state organizations … the media companies basically have all the control of the content we consume, see and react to. We are only reacting to what we are seeing … what we are seeing is controlled by a small group of corporations.

We aren’t the problem

They are.

That is a scary bear … I ran into one like that in late summer here in northern Ontario and it was about that size. She had two cubs with her and if I wasn’t in my truck, I would probably be dead. She spread her forelimbs like that, stomped the ground, all the hair on her back was on end, spit was spraying out of her mouth and she roared at me. She stomped / ran towards me and I felt like I was facing off with Godzilla.

It was so intimidating sitting inside my truck, I wanted to crawl through my seat and run away. I did a uturn, and drove away as fast as I could fearing for my life … I knew I was safe, her appearance just didn’t make me feel like it.
