There is a prequel to this and the words Israel and Hamas are exchanged.

I’m no supporter of either and I don’t believe that killing civilians on either side will answer questions, it will only make matters worse.

As Gandhi put it … “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth … leaves a world full of blind, toothless people”

This blood type is what causes Italians to cry out … ITSA SPICY MEATABALL, AH???

It also causes them to flail their arms and hands around often, especially when they’re talking.

I’m not diabetic … but half my family is (and I have a big family) … and I’ve seen my share of out of control diabetics who have full blown attacks because they are so chaotic that they don’t bother monitoring themselves or their disease. I’m Indigenous Canadian from northern Ontario and I have a pretty dysfunctional family … I’ve seen young men in their 20s with out of control diabetes … people in their 30s with blood sugar so freaking high, you wonder why they are still alive … .people in their 40s with amputations due to diabetes … and people dying in their 50s from the disease. It’s terrible. On many occasions I’ve had to call ambulances and take family and friends to emerg because they were helplessly losing control of their mind and bodies due to diabetes … it isn’t pretty and absolutely terrifying.

As to the GERD … that disease affects mostly my affluent friends in cities and towns in the south … I have four friends who are in their 50s who have severe GERD to the point where they can’t breathe at night because the reflux is affecting their esophagus and obstructing their airway … and the only way they can properly breathe at night is with a mask and oxygen.

Or diabetes and GERD … nothing like frothing at the mouth with a diabetic attack or sleeping with a breathing mask and oxygen to make you look like a man.

Lol … I’ve been chatting with a nice guy at the supermarket every time I go there. I don’t know him nor do I really want to … he’s just nice and I want to be nice back. I’m a guy, I’m not gay, I was just being nice and friendly. I’m brown indigenous, he’s Indian and I live in a mostly white area so I thought I’d take an extra step to be nice to someone who is different because I know what that feels like.

Last time I saw him, he answered me back with ‘Why?’ Every time I asked something about his life

I asked how good his family was … has he been traveling anywhere special lately … what have you been up to?

I don’t know him and I just wanted to chat about something, anything and at one point I felt strange.

But he was good about it … I told him I was just wanted to chat … he laughed and said it was alright and we talked for a while.

The world is getting weird I find and it’s getting harder to just talk to anyone without some form of suspicion between people.

It was always like that to a degree as far as I can remember (I’m on my 40s) … but I find it seems to be more so these days.

EDIT: typos

No one ever gets the point until people start getting beaten, threatened, wounded, maimed or killed. They’ll keep arguing the details until there is an authoritarian government telling you what you can or can’t do or say.

Then everyone stands around wondering how it all happened.

Most regular people I know just want to live life and not really bother with anyone else in a negative way … in fact most people I’ve ever known would do something good for the other person if it meant it would help. Most people are just good and have a very good nature.

It’s the psychotic few billionaires and millionaires out there that want a world with authoritarian fascist government in power because it means those wealthy few get to keep all their money and if they do get their way, they can exponentially grow the wealth they already have. It’s all about money and power.

It’s all about a handful of morons who aren’t aware of their finite life that believe they can become temporary rulers of the world.

@ininewcrow@lemmy.ca avatar

I went to spend Christmas with my in-laws about ten years ago and ruined their meal.

I’m not a bad cook, I know my way around a kitchen, my mom ran a fast food joint when I was a teen and she taught me how to work my ass off in a kitchen. From that start I’ve developed into a pretty good cook (or so my wife and friends tell me). I’m not the best but I do know how to cook. I know how to make prepare and serve a full Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings and desserts on my own if I had to.

At my in-laws place for Christmas I knew I should help so I just started doing dishes without asking. The place was hectic, the in-laws barely know how to cook and none of them seem to appreciate any spice other than salt or pepper. Everyone was happy I was helping and I kept the kitchen clean as the cooks worked. It was familiar for me and it amazed everyone else.

After a couple of hours of helping I thought I’d do more. They were making gravy and all it was was thin water from the drippings mixed with flour which made a white watery tasteless gravy. I thought I’d amaze them by making a roux with the own drippings, thickening the liquid, browning it to a golden color, adding salt, pepper, spice, a drop of maple syrup, soya sauce and a dash of Worcestershire. I kept tasting it and to me it was delicious. I had practiced for years and I knew how to make it taste good.

The in laws came in and the room went quiet, even the Christmas music stopped … they all looked at me like I murdered the cat and I was cooking it.

They were all upset that I had changed “Ma’s gravy” and turned it into something else. Everyone was either disappointed at best or just sneered at me like I had thrown a brick into the living room window.

I didn’t burn anything, didn’t over salt, didn’t make anyone sick, no fire, no explosions, blood or burns … I had just ruined “Ma’s gravy” of basically water and flour that everyone ate and somehow enjoyed every Christmas.

It was the weirdest TIFU in the kitchen I ever experienced.
